Tom Davis - Post finally publishes the rest of its investigation on corruption (Andrea Chamblee - 12/12/2006 11:11:51 AM)
RaisingKaine readers will remember a front page WaPo story July 28th on how contractors who sell what the government doesn't want or need can hire the wife of Tom Davis to lobby for them in front of the Government Reform Committee, conveniently chaired by Tom Davis.  The same Post writers Scott Higham and Robert O'Harrow are continuing the investigation of lax and nonexistent oversight of contractual influence by the committee and its chair in November "Report Finds DHS Lax on Contracting Procedures" and December "GSA Chief Seeks to Cut Budget For Audits," and "Trio From Hill Ask GSA Head Not to Shift Audit Burden."
Unfortunately, the Post waited till after the election to publish the writers work. Great job, reporters; not so great timing, WaPo and Fred Hiatt!

Do a diary on this. (phriendlyjaime - 12/12/2006 11:14:57 AM)
It deserves it; great work.  :)

Got a diary in draft (Andrea Chamblee - 12/12/2006 11:54:25 AM)
but it's finals week for the class I teach. And there's my day job.  Soon, I hope. Thanks for the vote of confidence. For those who agree to read it, rate my comment. If there's interest, I'll use lunch and latenight and finish it. ;-)
