a comment (pvogel - 12/11/2006 4:46:13 PM)

Just a slight comment.

If it was me, I would have named the new Baby Virginia!!!!

But then again, Georgia is a great name.
So to Jim and Hong Lee, enjoy enjoy enjoy!!

I wonder why Georgia? (LAS - 12/11/2006 5:10:27 PM)
Family name? Some sort of homage to the state or to ray Charles? Just curious...

Here's many congratulations and best wishes that the little one is sleeping through the night at six weeks! I hope Hong Lee gets a lot of rest and takes care of herself.

I'm thinking it's been a long time since Webb's had a baby in the house. Can't wait to hear him talk about the midnight feedings and diaper changes and "please, please, please, why won't you sleep?" episodes.

Look, you know you are truly a parent when you have asked the following quesitons more than once: Did she poop? What color was it? After that, my friends, there is no going back.

I also get a chuckle out of imagining tough guy Jim Webb, a man, let's face it, fairly reeking with testosterone surrounded by all those girls. Good times ahead!

Georgia's his mother's name (Catzmaw - 12/11/2006 6:18:34 PM)
I remember seeing Hong Le at the victory rally and thinking how very healthy she looked.  She seems like a real trooper.  If Webb's like most of the tough guys I know he probably melts around his girls.  And let's face it, baby girls are so cute with their little bows around their heads and their teeny feet stuck in pink moccasins and their tiny button noses.

You gotta love a man (LAS - 12/11/2006 10:50:02 PM)
who gives his mom her proper due. Good on you, Senator Webb!

Oops, I was wrong -- it was his maternal grandmother's name (Catzmaw - 12/12/2006 10:28:46 AM)
He wrote quite a bit about her, and with great admiration, in Born Fighting.  I got the impression from the book that she had a major influence on him growing up and I've wondered if she was the inspiration for the character of Hodges' grandmother in Fields of Fire.

Welcome Georgia LeAnh (Shawn - 12/11/2006 5:25:12 PM)
What great news!

On the political side it also means we'll have a Virginia Senator who will take both a short and a long view on every one of his decisions.

My hope and prayer today is that James & Hon Le Webb will  continue to serve our nation until well after Georgia LeAnh is old enough to vote.

Shawn

What welcome news! (vadem - 12/11/2006 6:23:33 PM)
Warm congratulations to Jim and Hong and the rest of the family.  As a Labor and Delivery nurse, I'm always thrilled and relieved to know that everything turned out well!

All the best to the new parents.  I'll bet Jim has long forgotten what a new baby in the household means!  Take care, Hong Le.

Georgia LeAnh Webb for President 2048! (cycle12 - 12/11/2006 6:43:39 PM)
Congratulations one and all!

No time to waste; let's get started on Georgia's 2048 presidential campaign just after the holidays...

Thanks!
