HuffPost has released an internal Fox News memo about their game plan after the Democrats took Congress. Click the link to read the whole thing - it reads like it's from a political war room. As David Kurtz at TPM says: "It's a doozy."

Can you say desperation, children?
They'll get their news release (Rebecca - 11/15/2006 2:23:19 PM)
There are two ways they can get this:
1. Pay an Arab a lot of money for a fake statement.
or the Bush way-
2. Torture some Arab until he or she admits that they are happy the Dems won. Can't you see it now? "Say you like the Dems or we'll drown you."
Ya know... (Eric - 11/15/2006 3:13:19 PM)
Not that I believe the "fair and balanced" reporting of Fox one bit, but I could see that the insurgents may be happy about the Democrats victory. One of the primary issues the Dems won on was the Iraq war - and that the American public does want us out earlier than "stay the course" Bush and his cronies would leave. Since the insurgents would gain by having the Americans leave there's reason to believe that they like the new congress.
Huh? Did I just make a Republican arguement. Sort of, read on...
The flip side of this is that the TERRORISTS HATE the Democrats victory. Bush and his buddies are the best recruiting tools the terrorists ever had. Period. The more Bush blunders, bumbles, and generally screws up foreign policy, espeically toward the Islamic world, the easier it is for Osama to recruit new terrorists. Duh.
So by cutting off Bush's rubberstamp support from a Republican legislature, we, the American people, have hurt the terrorists ability to recruit new members. And that's a critical component to winning the war on terrorism. Good for America, bad for Terrorism.
After all, wasn't our goal in Iraq, Afganistan, and everywhere else to fight terrorism? I don't recall any call to fight insurgents after 9/11.
Credibility? (Terry85 - 11/15/2006 7:42:03 PM)
How credible is this source? They've got some real dirt on Fox News with some other articles I've found on there, if they are for real, that is???
Never mind (libra - 11/16/2006 1:34:40 AM)
the idea that the insurgents are "dancing in the streets" with joy at the Dem's win; *if* they were paying any attention at all to the US elections and *if* they had their 'druthers, I'm sure they'd prefer an accross-the-board GOP win. GOP's ineptitude keeps them inviolable. GOP's bull-headedness (stay the course) provides them with ever new sources of "cannon meat" (aka "suicide bombers for faith") *and* international recognition they'd never have had otherwise (did the whole world hang on the lips of AlQuaeda's first, second and third string *before* we invaded Iraq?)
No, the really "cute" thing about Faux Snooze and terrorists in Iraq is this:

If DoHS is at all consistent, the whole lot of foxes are going to be digging holes in Gitmo (at best) or some other CIA-ran hell-holes in undisclosed locations for having financially supported... you know whom. Happy waterboarding, Foxies
