Analysis of remaining precincts, Part II

Senator-Elect Jim Webb currently leads by 7046 votes with 99.84% precincts reporting.
The SBE website has the following outstanding precincts:
1. James City County Absentee (C003)
2. One of two precincts in James City County called "Roberts B (0502)"
3. Raynor in Isle of Wight County.
4. Fairfax City Central Absentee Precinct (C011)
Now, I just spoke with the James City County registrars office. I was told there are no voters left to count in their county. Long story short, all of the voters in James City County live in Virginia's first district. The uncounted "precincts" of that county that are in VA-03 are part of the James River. There are no more votes for anybody outstanding here.
The last two districts will - at best for Allen- add only a few dozen votes for him. Based on '04 turnout numbers, Raynor only had 170 total voters (+17 for the GOP) and Fairfax City absentees went heavily for the Dems. Most likely, Webb's lead will grow slightly.
Expect Sen.-Elect Webb's current lead to remain largely unchanged - he will be certified the winner of this Senate seat. After that, Allen will be able to call for a recount.
(UPDATE: Fairfax City is done counting, and Webb's lead has grown. With only a maximum of a few hundred voters from that one tiny Isle of Wight precinct outstanding, Senator-Elect Jim Webb currently leads by 7132.)

Thanks for all your great analyses Rob, they've been inspiring over that worthless MSM coverage :D
MSM love the drama. (loboforestal - 11/8/2006 12:39:29 PM)
... Stay tuned !!!!
(It pays the bills over at CNN and Fox)
Webb's won it though he may have to go through a recount. Some reporters and lawyers will get assignments and Webb will have to cough up some $$$ to pay people some overtime, but it's over.

Please Explain Discrepancy (Timothy - 11/8/2006 1:01:09 PM)
Hello! My first post here. This has been really confusing me since last night. If you look at vote totals at cnn.com which supposedly come from the AP, they are different than what is posted on the Virginia SBE website. In summary, the CNN vote totals are much lower. Can anyone explain why they are different????
My work white board . . (JohnM - 11/8/2006 1:12:19 PM)
Since coming in ive been updating the vote total from the SBE as it updates on a big board in my cube.
I love how it looks
Webb 1,172,152
Allen 1,165,019
Thank you Va!! Thanks to all of you Webbites out there that made this possible!!!
Central Absentee Precinct (Fairfax City) (mkfox - 11/8/2006 1:34:43 PM)
went for Webb 351-268
Montana Gone for Tester (norman swingvoter - 11/8/2006 1:41:04 PM)
Fox News just announced that Montana has gone for the Democrat. Get ready for Virginia to get nastier. As Virginia goes, so goes the Senate. It's great Webb is ahead.
3rd Congressional District (Elise - 11/11/2006 5:11:13 PM)
Could you post a map of CD3? It would be a lovely illustration of the way our wonderful General Assembly satisfied our constitutional requirement that districts be "compact and contiguous" when they squeezed all possible black (and native American) Virginians into Bobby Scott's district. James City County's precinct Roberts B was created to link Charles City County to Newport News without affecting any James City County voters.
