Raising Kaine Lt. Governor Endorsement

Now that Sam Penney has finished his series of profiles on the Democratic Lt. Governor candidates, in the next week or two, RaisingKaine is hoping to make an endorsement.  We plan to consider, in order, the following factors in making our decision:

  • Our analysis regarding which candidate we believe would help Tim Kaine the most as running mate
  • Our assessment of who would be the best Lt. Governor, if elected
  • Our perception as to which candidate has shown the most support so far in the campaign thus far, in terms of dollars raised, polling (including our own Raising Kaine non-scientific poll, which will be closing soon -- it has 443 votes right now and I'd like to see 500 or even 1,000 votes cast), and other indicators (i.e., media coverage, energy, enthusiasm)
  • The arguments made to us by the candidates as to why they should win our endorsement.  So, please write us and tell us why you'd make the best running mate for Tim Kaine and the best Lt. Governor.
  • Other factors, like any possible unethical behavior, scandals, etc., that could hurt the candidate in the general election.

    As I've said, we'll be debating this within the RaisingKaine community over the next week or two.  We would very much like the candidates and their supporters to weigh in with their thoughts.  Let me just emphasize that, at this point, I personally have NO PRECONCEIVED NOTION as to which candidate, if any, should win our endorsement.  So, make your arguments and may the best candidate win!
