Bush Administration Gives A-Bomb Instruction Manual to Terrorists

I'm not kidding, see here and here. Apparently, the Bush Administration - "under pressure from Congressional Republicans" - published "detailed information on how to build nuclear firing circuits and triggering explosives, as well as the radioactive cores of atom bombs." In ARABIC, no less. On the internet!
As J.C. Wilmore points out, "How convenient for the terrorists, no need to waste time or money on a translator." J.C. concludes:
Honestly, if there is a point at which incompetence becomes treason, hasn't the Bush administration crossed it?
Any answers from the BushAllen apologists out there? If this had been a Democrat, can you IMAGINE the reaction?

I certainly hope (phriendlyjaime - 11/3/2006 12:21:21 PM)
that this gets crossposted EVERYWHER and that the MSM makes it the weekend story.
This is HUGE. And frightening.
I've lost count (lwumom - 11/3/2006 12:34:22 PM)
on how many things have happened that would have been investigated if the Democrats have done it. I hope this is the big story of the day.
But Dems hadn't done it, (libra - 11/3/2006 11:49:14 PM)
so it's probably not going to even be a big story in the MSM. And the only investigation will be of that treacherous NYTimes, for "advertisng" the website and its plans to the jihadists... Black is white, up is down and the Busheviks are strong on defense and are our only protectors.
Does this qualify as a November Surprise??? (Used2Bneutral - 11/3/2006 12:40:42 PM)
It really should..... Chemical, Bio, and definitely Nuclear..... I hope Bush talks about it on TV.... he can never pronounce NUCLEAR properly......
Gahhh!!!!! (JC - 11/3/2006 1:43:39 PM)
I can't believe that these people are in charge of the safety of our nation!
Thanks for the hat tip Lowell.
Santorum (kevinceckowski - 11/3/2006 4:16:43 PM)
pushed for the release of the documents, and got his way evidently.
May not be such a swift move.
Do they all want us to think that just because they had the documents they also had the bomb, but couldn't find it?
Another fear tactic before the vote?
Any excuse is a good one (Teddy - 11/3/2006 4:24:23 PM)
for those without conscience or brains. Looking for WMDs? Proof of Saddam's dastardliness? Oh.... of course, it was Clinton's fault.
Wing Nuts (Newport News Dem - 11/3/2006 4:34:47 PM)
are pushing the story that this story vidicates the Iraq War!
Quite frankly (madgranny - 11/3/2006 5:03:07 PM)
I can't understand why this isn't getting more coverage. Our stupid ADD MSM can't grasp how serious this is. They spent days on a botched joke and on Allen's "macaca", but little time for a national security issue. Oh, wait, there's a SEX scandal out there!
WTOP did report on this (Teddy - 11/3/2006 9:26:34 PM)
in a rather haphazard way that sort of mentioned the sensitive data was revealed under pressure from Republicans. As I often do, I decided to phone their newsroom, telling them I'd just heard the report of the revelation of how to build an atomic bomb, and that I thought it was outrageous; to my surprise the man answering the phone said he agreed. Emboldened (ahem) I added that this went along with the outting of Plame, that the Republicans seemingly would do anything including damage America's national security in order to get what they thought would give them a political advantage. It was time we stopped giving the Republicans a pass on things like this, and I sincerely hoped WTOP and investigative reporters would follow up on the story and get the facts out. The reply? "I will certainly let the editorial board know your opinion." Ha!
