For me, this has been a hard season to get anything published ... no one wanted bio material re James Webb, why I respect him so fundamentally, and believe that he will bring a strong and important voice into the US Senate. Positive stories about the important skills and capacities that Judy Feder would bring to the House (such as the importance to have someone with such strong capabilities re health issues to try to solve Republican disasters like not allowing negotiating with drug companies for Medicare Plan B and to help structure a better health system for the future) didn't get a peep of a reply from an editor. There was no interest in a serious discussion of how Frank Wolf's views were, at the end of the day, so out of touch with his (my) district's voters. And, no newspaper seemed interested in the CCC and George Allen's white supremacist connections. Even in this LTE, the words in italic were the only ones not published:
Now, when it comes to the Senate, George F. Allen makes Frank Wolf look like a standard-bearer of thoughtful legislative action. From his mediocre legislative record to his evident white supremacist views, George F. Allen is far worse than simply a disappointment as a Senator.
There was, however, much interest in something that started with Mark Foley. (Heard back from four editors. In any event, this is only one published.) Glad to see that it is the most critical issues and ones that will change the lives of all Americans (for the better -- e.g., why vote FOR Judy & Jim ... rather than against Frank and George F) are what was dominating publication decisions. Anyway, follow past the flip for my LTE ...
Letters to the Editor
Everything Rosy or Not?
To the Editor:
As a parent of young children, I am concerned over the stunning silence of Frank Wolf in regards to the Republican House leadership's enabling of Republican Congressman Mark Foley's sexual predation. In fact, Wolf seems to maintain his allegiance to Dennis Hastert as, the very day Foley resigned, he accepted a $5000 contribution from Hastert.
Wolf's blind support of Hastert's stunning immoral leadership is only matched by his equally slavish devotion to Tom DeLay.
This dedication to incompetence operating counter to American and Virginians' interests extends beyond the House to Wolf's voting record in support of the Bush Administration, no matter how bad its policies have been and might be.
When considering Wolf's record in face of corrupt leadership, 10th district voters might as well simply have a robot under House leadership control in the seat.
We need change ... and Frank Wolf won't be taking us there.
Now, when it comes to the Senate, George F. Allen makes Frank Wolf look like a standard-bearer of thoughtful legislative action. George F. Allen is far worse than simply a disappointment as a senator.
It is clear GÇö if you think everything is rosy, from Iraq to Katrina, vote for Frank Wolf and George Allen. If you look for change to move to a better future, then vote Judy Feder and James Webb.
