WebbGÇÖs endorsement
The Alexandria Times endorsement for Jim Webb for Senate (10/26) states that GÇ£Webb stands out because of his willingness to stand up for the little guy, that Webb is most likely to follow in the mold of VirginiaGÇÖs senior senator and not afraid to ask tough questions rather than worry about the party lineGÇ¥.Now the editorial writers for the Alexandria Times want me, as an independent voter and yes, thinker, to vote for Jim Webb based on the above endorsement statements? You bet. It will be a pleasure to vote for Mr. Webb with GÇ£both eyes openGÇ¥ on Nov. 7, knowing that I am supporting a man who will bring character and dignity back to the Senate. We need independent-minded officials who can work both sides of the political isle, someone who is a military hero and well understands the various cultural, religious and tribal issues facing our men and women in Iraq as well as being fiscally responsible.
Since George Allen has been Senator for Virginia, I have never heard that he has hosted any town meetings for Alexandria/Arlington residents nor seen much of him. You can bet Jim Webb wonGÇÖt forget us.
