Allen Campaign Continues its Outright, Outrageous Lies

Even as Jim Webb speaks to huge, enthusiastic crowds everywhere he goes (see this morning's Daily Press article, "Webb has Williamsburg crowd eating from hand"), the pathetic, "nothing-to-report" Allen campaign continues to lie, lie, and lie some more. Did I mention LIE?

The latest?  Now they're actually claiming that the Webb campaign tried to "provoke" the incident the other day in Charlottesville, in which a first-year UVA law student named Mike Stark tried to ask George Allen a question, and was assaulted by Allen campaign staffers as a reward his insouciance.  In the upside-down, bass-ackwards world of George Allen and his supporters, somehow this incident gets twisted from a criminal attack by Allen thugs on a peaceful consitutent trying to ask a question (however obnoxious), into an orchestrated "attack" (huh?) by the Webb campaign.

OK, let's get this one straight.  We've said it here several times already, but since George Allen doesn't read much, we'll put it in big, bold red letters for him to read:

*Mike Stark is NOT a Webb staffer!!!!!
*Mike Stark is NOT even a Webb volunteer (we checked our huge volunteer database)!!!!
*Mike Stark was criminally assaulted by Allen thugs!!!!!
*Jim Webb had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with this!!!!
*George Allen and his staff are 100% at fault, and will likely end up facing criminal charges!!!!

Got that, "A-Team?"  Or is that too complicated for ya?  Let me ask you a question, then, one that your right-wing intellects (so to speak) can surely understand:  WHAT PART OF "ILLEGAL" DO YOU FAIL TO UNDERSTAND?  Because ILLEGAL is exactly what you guys did the other day - assaulting an innocent (if annoying) man - and that's what police are now investigating.

The bottom line?  Not only are you guys going to lose this election, you're quite likely to end up in court, even jail, after it's all over.  And that's just for this assault, not even getting into those 50,000 stock options that went to George Allen from a company called Xybernaut. Well, at least Allen won't be "bored" after November 7, when he's out of his hated "wounded sea slug" of a Senate, where to while away the hours he likes to STEAL other Senators' amendments!  Ha.

I have nothing substantive to  add. I will point out that llen was here in Northern Virginia campaigning yesterday, but unless you were a rabidly rich republican, you would never know it.

Allen needs to get his head on straight... He owes Webb a big apology but If I were Webb I would not hold my Breath to get it. I don't blame Stark to press charges

Since that's all that the "A-Team" has done since the beginning - lies, lies, and more lies.  Must be nice living in la-la land, where we're winning in Iraq, where we're "fighting 'em over there so we don't have to fight 'em over here," where global warming is a communist plot or something, where science is an anti-religious plot, where "clear skies" means more pollution, where "tax cuts" means tax INCREASES on the next generation(s), where "small government" means the fastest growth in government spending EVER, where embryonic stem cells are more sacred than the life of Michael J. Fox or even their hero Ronald Reagan, etc., etc.

What a strange world they live in.

ARLINGTON, VA –  At the conclusion of a well attended event in Charlottesville, a Webb supporter wearing an Allen sticker aggressively went after Senator Allen, who was at an event  with his wife Susan and Senator Elizabeth Dole, screaming that he answer inappropriate questions.

As the Senator was trying to exit the room with a campaign staffer, the Democrat activist, identified as Mike Stark, pushed the Allen staffer. Later, volunteers restrained him and asked to leave the building when he approached the Senator a second time, asking inappropriate questions.

This was not the first time that Stark, a frequent Daily Kos blogger, has aggressively confronted Senator Allen in front of TV cameras and been removed from the premises by event security. In August, Stark was asked to leave a Holiday Inn by management “after he became combative” while interrupting a press conference with Senator Allen. Stark was way out of line and showed very poor judgment in questioning Allen in this way and on this subject.  Reading the above article, it sounds as though Stark is a loose canon. Did he instigate the whole scuffle for publicity?  Jim Webb is a class act and doesn't need this type of "support."  I hope Jim's people are distancing themselves from Stark.  We don't need these distractions--it's about Iraq, not a rumored spitting incident in a previous marriage.  On to Victory!!!

This is Democracy under attack.

You can see a complete interview with Mike Stark on Charlottesville Channel 19 here.This incident is about a Virginia Senator that puts himself above his constituents, and only comes out when he needs our votes. George Allen has baselessly called Jim Webb a misogynist and a pediphile, yet conceals his own arrest records, and sealed divorce records.  When Mike Stark sought to ask him about this, you can see what it brought.  George Allen is a coward, surrounded by thugs.

As Stark says, "is this a Banana Republic, these guys would just as soon have taken me out back and shot me."  Not in Virgina!
