Anyway, after Mike Stark's manhandling at George Allen's staffers' hands, I thought it would be a good thing if some of us in NoVa hopped over to a George Allen event tomorrow to ask him some questions.
I've written a diary about this late-formed idea over at dKos. (My username there is the same, if you wish to vet my history there to make sure I'm not some crazy troll coming over here to stir up trouble.)
In short, I live in NoVa, I'm a pregnant suburban Virginia mom who is a constituent of George Allen's, and I'd like to ask him some questions. That's all - no rabblerousing or anything, just a few questions. And it so happens that George Allen's gonna be in NoVa tomorrow.
I'm hesitant to head into enemy territory alone, because I will have a two year-old in tow and no one available to come with me to make sure Felix's goons don't rough me (or my kid) up. I'd feel a lot better if maybe a couple of people were with me. People with cameras and a common cause.
If you are, at this late moment, able to free yourself up for tomorrow morning's event in Ashburn, I'd love to have some company. Details are in the dKos diary, and my email address is posted over there as well.
Thanks much, and I do truly hope to see a friendly face tomorrow morning!
(If you're planning to go, would you please let me know? I might chicken out if I can't find anyone else to go. I might not, but if I don't hear from anyone, after I talk to Mr. Poppyseed about this, I might wind up not going, and I don't want to stiff anybody who decides to go, just on the basis of my thinking I might be the only (D) there.)
If I go, I'll be diarying it (likely on dKos, since I'm such a newbie here). Thanks for the well-wishes!
If you decide to go, I hope they learned their lesson from today. If not--and who could blame you!--it's the thought that counts.
Peace out!
I have decided not to go, and for that very reason. Were it just me, no problem. But with a kid-and-a-half - well, that makes venturing into enemy territory alone a little scarier. Thanks for your kind remarks!
