both yesterday at the Women for Webb rally and on the radio today.  As a clue to just how uninvolved I was with politics before this campaign I had not even connected her name with that of THE Puller family of legendary Marines.  I remember now hearing of her husband's struggle and his eventual suicide.  How right she is when she says we are sending our young people to Hell when we send them to war. 

After hearing Ms. Matalin prattling about the wonders of George Allen as governor I enjoyed hearing Toddy's pointed story of Allen's clumsy budget-cutting overkill by offering early retirement to VDOT employees.  This was his behavior across the board, which is why I am ever perplexed at his "good governor" reputation.  He fired people wholesale, disrespected everyone working for the state, and seemed to be unable to connect the need for good funding to provide decent services.  He didn't even believe government should have to provide services for the most part.
