First, I must say I detest the slogan of the Newport News GOP. "Newport News Republican Party - People Who Think Like You". It just strikes me if you are this doctrinare, you are antithetical to what thinking people actually do.
Second, our booth was alive and active all day long. We were giving out Webb and Vote No yard signs by the dozens and dozens. We could not help but observe very little activity across the street. This year, maybe there are not the many people "who think like them" as they would hope.
Lastly, a very elderly lady visited us early in the afternoon. Her vision not what it used to be, she had this concern on election day. Basically, for the first time in her life, she is going to vote straight democratic as she is so angry over the state of our Union. She wants our precinct captain to talk to her before she enters her polling location so she knows exactly who and how to do exactly that, Vote Democratic.
It was a great event and the thrist for change in our grand Republic was on full display all day long.
