Dick Wadhams Insults Mark Warner and Tim Kaine

Here's Allen campaign manager Dick Wadhams' latest insightful inciteful comment, courtesy of the Hampton Roads Daily Press:

Webb can drag Kaine and (Mark) Warner all over the state. John Warner trumps them.

Nice, Dick. So, you think that Tim Kaine and Mark Warner are being "dragged" all over the state, huh?  You think that these two strong, smart men can't make up their own minds about who they support for U.S. Senate - or anything else?  You really think that anyone can "drag" them anywhere they don't want to go?  What, are you saying that these two guys are idiots...or tools?  Do you really think so little of Tim Kaine and Mark Warner to make comments like this?  If so, it's not just ignorant, it's also insulting to the voters of Virginia who elected Kaine and Warner, and who think the world of them.

And in what way does John Warner - who nobody on the Webb side has insulted, as you have now done with Governors Kaine and Warner - "trump" Tim Kaine and Mark Warner?  As I explained this past Monday (what, you weren't reading RK that day, Dick?), according to the latest Washington Post poll:

...the most popular Virginia politico is Mark Warner, at +53 percentage points (73%-20%).  Next is Tim Kaine, at +44 percentage points (67%-23%).  In third place is John Warner at +41 percentage points (66%-25%).  Then comes Jim Webb at +16 percentage points (53%-37%).  Finally, last but not least is George Allen, at +10 percentage points (53%-43%).

So, the combo of Mark Warner/Jim Webb is at a combined +69 percentage points.  The amazing duo of John Warner/George Allen is at +51 percentage points.

That's an 18-percentage-point advantage for Mark Warner/Jim Webb over John Warner/George Allen.

The bottom line is that you can try and denigrate Tim Kaine and Mark Warner, the two most popular politicans in Virginia, if you think that's good strategy.  Personally, I strongly encourage you to do so.  Then, on November 7, the voters can decide whether they agree with you or not about this.

Go to page 2 of Warner's photo gallery:  http://www.senate.go...

And here's the caption:

Who is Dragging (Teddy - 10/22/2006 4:08:33 PM)
whom about Virginia? Bush sneaks in to a restricted audience because Allen is afraid to be seen publicly with the man whom he's backed close to 100 per cent of the time. Then John Warner sort of drags his feet across the River and, clearly out of Party loyalty, says he supports Allen, then vanishes as quickly as possible after the photo op, while Allen fumbles a flip flop on Iraq trying to cozy up to Warner and distance himself from his 6-years of being Bush's sycophant.

Dickie W. desperately spins the John Warner endorsement in the only fashion he knows how: i.e., by denigrating, belittling, and trivializing the opponent, rather than remarking positively on the attributes of his candidate's endorser. How sad.

John Warner and Allen (libra - 10/22/2006 8:00:30 PM)
Have quite a bit in common, it seems. I know we're supposed to treat Warner (John) as if he were a knight in a shining armor, but check his record on the issue of troop support. Both he and Allen got the same "grade", though their votes were by no means identical...

Who in Washington really supports the troops? Well, here are the facts.

Sure, politicians say they support the troops. But whose votes back up their rhetoric – and who’s just wearing an American flag lapel pin?

Now there’s an easy way to know for sure. The nonprofit, nonpartisan Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America’s Action Fund has tallied up every Congressional vote cast on troops’ and veterans’ issues for the last five years. We’ve crunched the numbers, and given every legislator a letter grade - the IAVA Congressional Rating. We have created a groundbreaking new web interface that will allow you (and every American) to find out for themselves where politicians stand on the issues.

Check your representatives’ IAVA Congressional Rating at www.iavaaction.org.

I heard John Warner today saying that the (Lowell - 10/22/2006 8:18:44 PM)
Bush Administration had done a great job in North Korea.  Uh, Senator Warner, with all due respect...did you miss the nuclear test?  Since when does allowing a member of the "Axis of Evil" go nuclear on your watch count as doing a "great job?"
