A Note to Republicans Trying to Woo Minorities

Calling black women "Hos", might not be the best way to do it.

Check out the following transcript of a new Republican ad targeting black voters in 10 battleground states this year and you be the judge:

BLACK MAN #1: "If you make a little mistake with one of your 'hos,' you'll want to dispose of that problem tout suite, no questions asked."

BLACK MAN #2: "That's too cold. I don't snuff my own seed."

BLACK MAN #1: "Maybe you do have a reason to vote Republican."

This ad was financed by J. Patrick Rooney, a white billionaire notorious for funding several misleading anti-Kerry ads that ran on urban radio stations in 2004.

How in the world does the Voice endorse Allen?  Please, some blogger needs to dig deeper into this.  I'm sure someone on the Voice editorial staff has some shady connections somewhere that we can find.  Everyone around Allen is just dripping with sleaze and I have to assume the worst of anyone that would endorse him.  That endorsement blows my mind.

Black farmers endorse Allen? (va.walter - 10/19/2006 1:25:41 PM)
I'm starting to get really frustrated with these groups that allow their endorsements to be bought so cheaply.  Black farmers with Allen new bill, Lambert with some HBCU money, the Voice, etc.  Have some principles people.

tout suite? (Todd Smyth - 10/19/2006 1:01:17 PM)

Am I just too uncool (Catzmaw - 10/19/2006 7:41:08 PM)
to know what that commercial is supposed to mean? Is it supposed to be some kind of pro-life commercial?  And here I thought I was so down.  Tsk, tsk.

Does sound a tad incongruous in the context, doesn't it?

Yeah, it's a pro-lfe commercial, running in some 10 states. Aimed at garnering black vote for GOP, or so I've heard. I sure as heck hope they're spending (wasting) *tons* of money on it, too :) My view of male brain power (irrespective of race and color) may be somewhat jaundiced but I have little doubt that any black female who catches sight of this one will "straighten" her mate out "tout suite"

Another speculation - that it's aimed at the racist dregs of society -- seems to me to be total bunk; moronic GOP may be, but *that* moronic? Any white supremacist (like Macaca Allen) is likely to use it as a commercial break one second into the ad and disappear to take a leak...
