Dick Wadhams has proved to me that he may just be the dumbest guy in Virginia Politics. That's right, dumber than George Allen.
I've already voiced how Wadhams' notoriously dirty standards have bothered me, an even called on him to apologize. Obviously, he didn't quite listen. Instead, he decided to attack bloggers again. But hey, at least this time he didn't insinuate that I hated Jews.
The League of Women Voters has asked that George Allen remove an ad that violates a contract that he signed saying he wouldn't air footage from the debate in an ad. George Allen's campaign responded with a resounding "no". Try that "but Nancy said" crap on us now, George, you flaming hypocrite.
But Wadhams logic for refusing to take down the ad is what cracks me up. From the AP Story...
"Allen campaign spokesman Dick Wadhams said the ad wouldn't be pulled. He said the Webb campaign broke the agreement first because the liberal Raising Kaine blog, which receives funding from the Webb campaign, provided links to debate footage."
First of all, has the Allen Campaign really sunk to the point that it's comparing itself to an activist-run blog? Seriously, that's pathetic dude. And yet, somehow I get the idea that if you gave Lowell, Josh, and the rest of us a candidate with a 16-point lead, we could keep the race from falling into the "Toss-up" category in only two months, so there you go. But that's beside the point.
Here's my biggest problem with Wadhams comment. Raising Kaine itself does not recieve funding from the Webb Campaign. How many times do we have to say this? Lowell and Josh work for Webb, and they recieve payment. I don't. Neither does Rob. Or the other Dan. Jaime doesn't. Neither does Teddy. As a matter of fact, a vast majority of the people who organize this site have never seen a dime from Jim Webb. Oh, we've GIVEN dimes to Webb. Many of them. But we've never received any money for our work.
Dick Wadhams apparently thinks Jim Webb is paying me for my support. Trust me, I wish he were. I have two more years of Tech, and then Law School after that. I could use the cash. Unfortunately, I give up my spare time and help Webb for free. Wadhams continuously tries to manipulate the media by lying about the Democratic Blogs. He's just pissed that we do our work so much better than he does his. So, Mr. Wadhams, why don't you stop manipulating the truth for your own benefit, hmm? Because you're really starting to make me ill. Seriously, every time I see a picture of you I start to feel a little queezy.
Now, this could hurt Allen in other ways. What's the one demographic that Webb is faltering in that, if reversed, would send him into the lead of this race? Women, that's right children. So, do you think Headlines such as "League of Women Voters wants Allen ad pulled; Allen says no" will help Allen in his attempt to keep the woman vote? No, I didn't think so either.
Finally, as Vivian points out on her post, Raising Kaine has removed it's links to the debate. We were told we shouldn't link, and we did what we were asked. George Allen and his campaign, however, did not remove the ad when asked. Well, there goes Dick Wadhams' escape goat, huh? After all, we removed the debate clip when asked to. Shouldn't Wadhams as well? Apparently, we look like the classy ones here. We made a mistake, and we remove the clip. George and Dick make a mistake, and they refuse to pull their ad. How can Wadhams' and Allen's actions even compare to ours when the outcomes are completely different? We have no link to the debate on our small blog, they still have debate footage being showered all over the airwaves!
Basically, Dick Wadhams is a complete moron. do you remember when we considered this guy Rove 2.0? That's an insult to Karl Rove! Dick Wadhams pushes Raising Kaine, Ben over at NLS, and the bloggers at Daily Kos and thinks it's all good because we won't push back.
Wrong.
Mr. Wadhams is just like his boss, George Allen. Nothing but a Kindergarten bully, and these accusations he's made reveal him to be nothing but that. He picks on the blogs because he thinks we're easy targets, and that we won't respond. Well, here's a response for you, Mr. Wadhams:
Once we're done kicking George Allen out of Washington, the next thing we're doing is kicking you out of Virginia.
The idea of doing something you regard as for the public good, without monetary compensation, is foreign to Wadhams and LaCivita.
They are wrong, and they are unbecoming of America's greatest ideals.
All he has to do is name the venue, and show up for 3 , two-minute periods. NCAA rules. We will sell tickets and give the proceeds to the League of Women Voters. You can pay off your debt of shame - Dick!
Dick Wadhams! When will you step up to the challenge? Bring a legal release, a quart of Bactine disinfectant, and a couple of rolls of gauze - we're going to demonstrate the Navy Ride.
They are too good to have to be accountablie or accept any responsibility....Unlike the rest of us peasants the ELITES don't have to abide by silly things like legal contracts, laws, or rules.
Didn't you notice Allen flagrantly violated the rule that the candidate was to "stop" talking when the buzzer went off? Allen disregarded this completely and when verbally reprimanded his excuse was...but that was an important issue.
yeah...like Allen has the I.Q. to solve any important issue.
The people are SICK of the Elites and their constant excuses, finger pointing, and negative advertising. Children in kindergarten are taught better than this.
That's why PEOPLE (no matter what their political persuasion) are saying ENOUGH to these neocon ELITISTS.
Buzz....Buzz....Mosquito
Wow - that is awesome!!!!! Fantastic work by everyone on RK. Now if we could just get some of those millions of dollars...
Was that an agreement between the Allen and Webb campaigns, or was it a three way agreement between the campaigns and the League of Women voters, or two separate agreements between each campaign and the League? Is the agreement online somewhere to look at?
Since the debate was televised and carried on Cspan, among other places, it is hard to believe that anyone could have reasonably understood that all or part of the video would not end up on Youtube and be linked to from various political blogs. That kind of use is in a different league that televised campaign ads broadcast in Virginia.
