It seems to me that the choice between the two candidates is actually quite straightforward. If you are in love with George W. Bush you should vote for Mr. Allen. He blindly supports the policies of President Bush. For you change looks like a bad thing.
If, on the other hand, despite the best efforts of you and your spouse you are barely making ends meet, you are probably ready for a change. You are paying the taxes that fund all of the governmentGÇÖs operations some of which you may not support and you should probably look for someone who is ready to represent your interests. Parents of young children struggling to find affordable child care. Webb is certainly your guy. For you change is a good thing.
If, you are one of our least well off citizens you should know that Mr. Allen has done little to support you, voting against raising the minimum wage and paying scant attention to your housing and health care needs. You should know that Jim Webb measures the success of our society (hence his future success as a Senator) by how well you are doing. For you change is a good thing
What all Virginians need is a Senator who is the real dealGǪGÇ¥Esse Quam VideriGÇ¥ as they say in my native North Carolina . GÇ£To be, Rather than to SeemGÇ¥ (The NC State Motto). Who is the real Virginian? Who has deep family roots in Virginia? Whose life experiences most closely resemble your own? In this time, with our nation at war, Virginia needs a Senator who has been to war. Jim Webb does not need to imagine what war is like, he knows from experience. He doesnGÇÖt need to imagine what its like to send your son or daughter off to war either, he knows that as well. A change of course in Iraq does not necessarily equate to abandoning the Iraqi people but GÇ£staying the courseGÇ¥ when itGÇÖs clear that youGÇÖre heading for the shoals is absurd. The choice is clear Virginia : Combat Boots or Cowboy Boots you make the call?
