I spoke to an undecided WWII vet today who said he was concerned about the Iraq War. I told him that Jim Webb was a Vietnam vet and he would bring a veterans perspective to Iraq policy. He liked that. I don't know if I convinced him to vote for Jim Webb but I know I gave him a reason to.
I spoke to one undecided woman who was also concerned about the war. She said she had a son, grandson,and granddaughter who had already been to Iraq. She is afraid they may have to go back. I told her that Jim Webb wants to get troops out of Iraq as quickly as possible. I know she will now seriously consider Jim Webb.
I had conversations with over 20 people today.
This is the power of phonebanking. If I persuaded 5 people to vote for Jim Webb today, then everyone else who calls can as well. 100 people calling can sway at least 500 people a day and remind even more people about the election. These people tell their friends and family and so on and so on. The word spreads. Its viral.
