Thank you to the DSCC for this hard-hitting but totally factual ad; please send lots more where this one came from!!! :)
P.S. I received the following e-mail from the DSCC:
I wanted to let you know that we're up on the air today with a television ad highlighting how George Allen voted against body armor for Iraq soldiers, took thousands from the oil and gas industry while voting to give the industry billions in tax breaks, and voted to raise his own pay even has he voted against raising the minimum wage. You can watch the ad here:

We've put it up on YouTube (GoogleTube?), as well:

Another 60 Bodies Found in Baghdad
The Associated Press
Tuesday, October 10, 2006; 6:34 AMBAGHDAD, Iraq -- Authorities found the mutilated bodies of 60 men in Baghdad in the 24 hours ending Tuesday morning, likely the latest victims of the sectarian death squads that roam the capital.
The bullet-riddled bodies all had their hands and feet bound and showed signs of torture _ hallmarks of death-squad killings, police 1st Lt. Mohamed Khayon said.
Do you think George Allen feels any emotion about those daily death tolls?
He just uses the Gold Star mother who have him her son's dog tags so he can SAY he feels something - which is "stay the course"
Bastard
while i wish webb had of said more about his military svc and that of his son's -- i see the major difference --
he doesn't use his for political gain, he doesn't use his son as a pawn to be moved on the political chess board -- allen was FOAMING AT THE MOUTH waiting to spew out that crap about some mother giving him her son's dog tags -- and what pray-tell is he going to do with them?
each and every day
GREAT AD!!!
He also just plain lied in the debate so I would imagine a Max Cleland or John McCain level of smear/attack at this point.
I just hope VA is smarter than that.
Maybe a nice piece on unethical Rovian style campaign propaganda in the press.
As far as the DSCC ad goes, I'm glad to see that they're running something. I would term this more the "apocalyptic kitchen sink ad". If the purpose of the ad is just to make George Allen look repulsive it works--although the tone of the ad is a little too over the top for me. If we're just talking about attack ads, I definitely prefer the minimalist, no-nonsense approach of the Vote Vets ad. Different target audience perhaps.
