Kaine Kickoff Event (Wise, Virginia)

Just got back from the Tim Kaine Kickoff Event in Wise. The story of the day was snow.
As you can see from this photo, Tim Kaine was unable to make it today because of the winter weather. The airport in Wise advised them it would be too dangerous to land. He and former Governor Linwood Holton both addressed the crowd via telephone. Kaine promised to return to Wise County on Sunday and personally thank supporters for coming out today.
The only estimate of attendance I heard was over 100, but less than 200. Considering how bad the weather was, I thought that was an excellent crowd. I did not try and count everyone, but the place was packed. We had to stand in line several minutes just to get our pancakes!
The thing that was most amazing is how energized the Democratic supporters are in Southwest Virginia. Even after Kaine addressed the crowd and things were obviously winding down, several people remained and discussed strategy. I was very impressed and anxious to help Tim Kaine be Virginia's next Governor.
The Kickoff tour now continues on to Roanoke.
However, Kilgore supporters must have been sneaking around too. The entrance to the college was marked by this Kilgore-supporting truck. This activity seems typical of Kilgore and his supporters.
I suppose this is the type of stunt we can expect from Kilgore and his crew this year.
