Most people realize the media are attacking George Allen, not Webb. While Allen has launched a massive, well funded and organized smear campaign against Jim Webb with false and misleading allegations, using TV ads, robo calls, push polls and targeted mailings. The people accusing Webb have been discredited and their accounts are second hand while the people coming forward on Allen are first hand accounts that have been thoroughly vetted.
As much as Allen tries to refocus his race on the "issues" by attacking Webb with second hand accounts, he has no shot of raising anything above the giant elephant stink coming from under the covers of the Republican tent. And wheuey, when an elephant stinks, it stinks big! Republicans are flying out of there like bats out of hell.
Harold Ford Jr. running for Senate in Tennessee responded this week to an opposition ad about him attending a party, where a Playboy bunny also attended that he would not "take a lecture on morality from a party that took hush money from a child predator" "That is gold" said former Republican Joe Scarborough.

Dennis Hastert was on Laura Ingram's radio show today whining about the Vast Left Wing Conspiracy and Ingram rebuffed him saying she didn't like it when Hillary Clinton used it and she certainly hoped the Republicans wouldn't use it as an excuse. The clip has been played on Air America and MSNBC. Hastert canceled 34 fundraising events over the next 3 weeks. They are in turmoil.
Republicans have gathered a list of all Republican gay staffers apparently to track down who spilled the beans to ABC and to black list all of them. Gay Republican groups are threatening to out more Republican Congressmen and apparently 8 more pages have come forward to talk to the FBI about Mark Foley. Republicans are stuck in a minefield, surrounded by gasoline.
