They were ready for me at Charlottesville Airport -- they started blocking my camera the minute I walked in. And they double-teamed me too -- I sure hope George Allen doesn't call in the Washington Redskins next!

What're Allen's People Afraid Of? (Catzmaw - 10/5/2006 4:25:58 PM)
I have to know, why are they blocking the tracker? What are they afraid of? Take the hawk away from Chicken Hawk and what have you got? Bawk, bawk, bawk ...
Did you get the reporter's contact info? (Eric - 10/5/2006 4:30:14 PM)
Even if the Webb campaign prefers that you not talk to the media, you can certainly pass along that info to the campaign. I'm sure they'd be happy to discuss the rather childish behavior of Allen's staff with the reporters.
The "excuse me" exchange is great. He actually acts like it was all an accident and lets you get the shot. Hilarious.
RE: Great documentary! (JPTERP - 10/5/2006 4:42:33 PM)
Even if Allen isn't pointing into the camera calling you names, these videos are still golden. I'm amazed at how thin skinned these guys are when the tables are turned. You'd think a guy with Allen's experience could take the heat, but apparently his managers have zero confidence in him in uncontrolled settings. Pretty pathetic.
Btw, great use of voice over narration. Look forward to the next episode.
The Allen guys are so busy blocking the Webb camera that in a few shots, it looks like they are blocking the "regular" people too.
Good for you Roadette (Nick Stump - 10/5/2006 7:01:26 PM)
Very funny stuff and shows how scared Allen's guys are scared you might see or hear something. Might I suggest a shotgun mike on your camera? A good one might get of lot of what he's saying, though now I think about it, he's not saying much these days anyway.

Sorry, I'm incompetent and don't know how to make little boxes around things. Maybe it's Mozilla.
I Think I Know Who the Print Guy Was (Catzmaw - 10/7/2006 3:12:31 PM)
Here's a link to a story about Allen's campaign stop which specifically mentions our valiant tracker:
"Albemarle GOP Chairman Keith Drake positioned himself in front of a Webb staffer tracking Wednesday’s event with a digital camera so that she could not get unobstructed images of Allen talking.
When the woman, who gave her first name as Joan and said she lived in Vienna, tried to hold her camera over Drake’s head, the Allen supporter turned and thrust his camera in front of hers, repeatedly blocking her view."
Here it is again. Still trying to figure this out.
