First, the good news! The newest polls show the Allen-Webb race to be a dead heat. Fundraising for Webb is soaringGǪ.$3 million raised. The black caucus has endorsed Webb. Military women are now coming to WebbGÇÖs defense. Jim Webb is staying on message.Second, the bad news (for George Felix Allen)! More credible people are coming out of the woodwork and articulating AllenGÇÖs racism, false Southern persona, lies and deception. Allen has basically disappeared, appearing only under controlled circumstances, taking no questions and hiding behind his wife, SusanGÇÖs skirts. As Allen struggles with the issues of Macaca, the n-word, the confederate flag, the noose and his initial denial of his Jewish heritage, he is totally thrown off message.
Yes, Allen has the money, but his ads are entirely one dimensional GÇô negative! The people of Virginia are tiring of all this. They want to hear about issues!
Now, the bad news. Where the hell is the DSCC? We have seen many promises, but GÇ£whereGÇÖs the beef.GÇ¥ Jim Webb has done his partGǪhe has proven to be an excellent candidate; he has shown that he can raise money; and he has closed the gap from 20 points to where this race is even. Is the DSCC going to wait until November? The time is now!
I have e-mailed the DSCC asking them why the hell they havenGÇÖt kept their promises. I urge all to do the same. I constantly receive solicitations to contribute to the DSCC. So have many of you and many of you have given. How can the DSCC expect Virginians to give, give, give and receive nothing for VirginiaGÇÖs candidate. How can the DSCC expect good men and women to run for the Senate (especially those who are not millionaires) when they receive no support?
Frankly, I am disgusted. The thousands of Webb supporters have done their job. The GÇ£bloggersGÇ¥ have been magnificent in their support of Jim and in getting the word out. Now it is time for the DSCC to do something!

They already have given to Webb, and they are even currently in production of a TV ad to be released soon.
The Democratic Party as a whole as been very supportive of Webb. Now, those of us who feel this has always been a tight race will always want the party, DSCC, and everyone to do more.
But, just because they are not always in Virginia.. doesn't mean they don't care. They do care, most of the 08 Potentials have been here and stumped and/or fundraised for Webb.
There are other races all over the nation, I mean sometimes even myself can get bias until I realize it's hard to cover the entire country when your the minority party.
Yes, the dems can always do more.. but let's cut them some slack. They have lives, kids, jobs, SEVERAL races across the country to work in to.
What we need to do HERE in Virginia, is roll up our sleeves... and put some hard work in.
I mean, everyone wants the DSCC or the Dems to come to VA, but some not accusing you though but some here in VA want to gripe and they won't go out and roll us thier sleeves.
Isn't that a bit hypocritical?
I mean, don't bitch if you aren't willing to put in the time, money, and effort for your own commonwealth.
Virginia is OUR commonwealth.
They are doing us the honor by giving us the time and money. We can do a lot more going down to the office, canvassing, and talking about Webb with anyone you know than to sit at a computer and bitch about the DSCC.
