Under the alternate universe of bushco, it appears that the building to train these Iraqis is incapable of "standing up."
A $75 million project to build the largest police academy in Iraq has been so grossly mismanaged that the campus now poses health risks to recruits and might need to be partially demolished, U.S. investigators have found.
Bush will have the Medal of Freedom ready for these guys!
The report serves as the latest indictment of Parsons Corp., the U.S. construction giant that was awarded about $1 billion for a variety of reconstruction projects across Iraq. After chronicling previous Parsons failures to properly build health clinics, prisons and hospitals, Bowen said he now plans to conduct an audit of every Parsons project.
My signature line speaks for me!
Who the hell are the 40% who still support these SOB's?
The most serious problem was substandard plumbing that caused waste from toilets on the second and third floors to cascade throughout the building. A light fixture in one room stopped working because it was filled with urine and fecal matter.
Is this not the perfect metaphor of bushco? They are now literaly sh--ing on us!
According to the advances, and the 60 Minutes program coming up:
CBS disclosed today that in the "60 Minutes" interview, Woodward tells Mike Wallace, among other things, that Henry Kissinger often meets with and advises the president, and that the Bush administration has not told the truth regarding the level of violence, especially against U.S. troops, in Iraq.He also reveals key intelligence that predicts the insurgency will grow worse next year: "The truth is that the assessment by intelligence experts is that next year, 2007, is going to get worse and, in public, you have the president and you have the Pentagon [saying], 'Oh, no, things are going to get better.' Now there’s public, and then there’s private. But what did they do with the private? They stamp it secret. No one is supposed to know."
Woodward tells CBS that when Mr. Bush had key Republicans to the White House to discuss Iraq, he told them, "I will not withdraw, even if Laura and Barney are the only ones supporting me."
My prediction. What will put Webb over the top? The drum beat against the war is going to get louder and louder in the next few weeks.
Oh that? That's a baby cockatoo. I put it up there because I wanted to draw attention to the fact that dude ranch Allen has just as much military experience and expertise as that cockatoo.
How dare he criticize Jim Webb's military experience and honors.
