"The Blogisphere, the new political battle ground, Politics at Warp Speed"

The Fairfax public access (Channel 10 on Cox) TV show is "Mark Levines Inside Scoop" and it will be a live show with telephone call in and live blog this coming Monday night from 7 PM to 8 PM EDT at our studios in Merrifield, Virginia.... Mark will lead the discussions and moderate the audience.  We need those that wish to be participants to be there by no later than 6:30 to get them settled into the studio for lighting and sound checks. The show is carried live on channel 10 through out most of Northern Virginia on Cox cable, Verizon FIOS, and Reston Comcast cable.....

For directions to the station http://www.FCAC.org  and for some sample previous shows, at least the audio portion in MP3 and PODcast format they can go to http://www.RadioInsi... where we will also webcast the show live as well.....along with a live blog for those that can't make it to the studio.

MORE ON THE FLIP...
I am here by inviting participants, but I will need an approximate body count (nothing violent implied) so we can put the set together Monday afternoon in terms of additional microphones and chairs..... also, it would be nice to get the names(if they wish) and the blog-handles in advance for the graphics operator to be able to flash on the screen when they are talking during the show.

Please post your RSVP here or email to Jim@Southworth.name ASAPGǪ. So far we have over half a dozen confirmed with double that expected.

For any of our station volunteers working crew, let's try to get there as always by 5:30 PM or as soon as traffic allows so we don't have to rush the set-up and phone tests, and network sync to satellite.  I do expect some additional studio off-camera guests again like last week, they will be there to observe, either in the studio and control room during the show.  There will be an on-camera audience as well. Observer guests should be there at the studios by 6:30 so we can get them settled in before we do final audio checks, lighting adjustments and sync up to the national networks and web.  If the additional guests need rides from the Dunn Loring Metro Station they should time their arrival to be before 6:15 and they then should call my cell phone (703-926-7431) or studio A control room on 571-749-1166 for pick-up.

If anybody has any questions they should feel free to call or message ANYTIME.... there may be Pizza and soft-drinks after the show as well as DVDs of the show for participants a few days later by mail.  We will make master tapes, or station quality DVDs available to other Public Access and academic stations for our cost and mailing charges as we have done in the past.

I'd love to join you, but (teacherken - 9/24/2006 8:03:11 AM)
I have an away soccer game and will not be back in NoVa until after 8 PM.  Sigh.  I would have greatly enjoyed participating.  I wish you luck, and hope you can get some really good people to participate.

Ken we will miss you... (Jim Southworth - 9/24/2006 11:56:14 AM)
But check the show archive at http://www.RadioInsi... a few minutes after the show is over to get the audio portion of the show almost immediately..

OBTW, I encourage any out of towners that decide to come to add a little extra time to your travel plans, it will be rush hour and since the general assembly still has not put a "real" transportation plan in place with appropriate funding yet..... But I still encourage you to come to the studios if at all possible, there is so much going on around you there that adds to the experience....

The audio portion of this show has made Arbitron #1 ratings in several US markets beating out all other talk shows including Rush Limbaugh and even the sports talk shows in those markets, so it is a quality show.

Thanks Eric for upgrading this invitation, it should be fun.
