Why Torture Works!

When you use torture, you can get people to say whatever you want them to say and Bush has been lying to himself for so long he just wants someone to agree with him. The majority of the world won't cooperate but if you torture people you can get them to say things like "If the US does not privatize Social Security, Osama Bin Laden will declare victory." So you see, torture works fine for George Bush.
Not too long ago we tortured thousands of Iraqis looking for Weapons of Mass Destruction that did not exist. The US broke every detainee and got plenty of leads but they led nowhere because the weapons didn't exist. It's a good thing those thousands of Iraqis we tortured and eventually released were so understanding and didn't try to retaliate or blow our soldiers up or anything like that?
Bush you are such an ASSHOLE! You're F@#$ing it up for all of us. You have doomed our children to a lifetime of terrorism.
He was a terrible business man, a horrible Governor of Texas and has been the worst US President in American history. I'm really hoping Mark Warner, who was a highly successful business man and one of the very best Governors will also be an excellent President in 2008 who can begin repairing the massive damage George Bush has caused. I hope a Warner/Obama 2008 ticket will be a prescription for 16 years of peace and prosperity in the world. A world without torture.

If it's ok to torture... then why not (Josh - 9/16/2006 9:53:47 PM)
just torture anyone.
I mean if you've got some guy who's hellbent on killing you and he's not going to say a word no matter how much you torture him, would it be ok to torture his 9 year old daughter in front of his eyes to get him to talk?
While we're on the subject, if you had a choice and could only save one from a burning hospital which would you choose, 1 living baby or 100 embryos?
yup (eve - 9/16/2006 10:29:50 PM)
I agree that Bush seems to need someone to confess to what he wants them to say even if it isn't true.
unbelievable.
That's the way it works (Rebecca - 9/16/2006 11:25:54 PM)
That's the way alcoholics are. You must agree or face their wrath. Even reality can't disagree. They usually live in a fantasy world of their own making. In their fantasy their are the king, God, and the adored one. Anything else will bring reality crushing down on them. They cannot accept even the reasonable criticisms that normal people can accept.
They are incapable of introspection and will do everything to avoid it. Just as they will do anything to make the whole world agree with them including torturing children. In fact, ask any child of an alcoholic. Many children of alcoholics get beaten and abused if they disagree with their alcoholic parent. Trouble is Bush is playing alcoholic daddy to the whole world.
IT'S TIME FOR AN INTERVENTION!!!
The problem is, who's going to intervene... (Lowell - 9/17/2006 5:18:11 AM)
...now that Bush, Allen, et al. have trashed our system of checks and balances?
Citizens voting for Democrats, that's who. (RayH - 9/17/2006 3:34:44 PM)
Coerced testimony inadmissable (RayH - 9/17/2006 3:47:19 PM)
There are reasons that testimony brought about by coercion is generally inadmissable evidence in a court of law.
I believe that one reason the Bush administration would like to reinterpret the Geneva Convention is that as the pressure mounts for them to bring their political prisoners to trial, much of the evidence that they've gathered would be thrown out of any self-respecting court. They want to modify the rules before these people are tried, so that they won't look so bad.
