Below is the latest RNC e mail titled "America Weakly" which is an attempt to paint and define the Democratic Party how they choose to in their very desperate attempt to drive their disillusioned base to the polls so that the GOP can keep full power in Congress after November to avoid being held to any form of accountability!
That is the bottom line of what that RNC e mail is all about and what it is designed to do when you cut through all of the spin and rhetoric!
This is also cross-posted on Gen. Wes Clark's blog where there are some excellent comments:
National Democratic leaders would be crazy to not put out some kind of a serious, credible, and nationwide response to this!
If they do not seriously respond to this, then they are just giving the RNC a free pass to define them and all Democrats which will hurt Democratic candidates at the polls in November by more disillusioned but "scared" Republicans turning out to vote for GOP Bush rubber stamp candidates!
Please forward this on because ALL Democrats have to know and be aware of what the RNC is doing to try and drive their disillusioned base to the polls in order to help the Democratic candidates who we are supporting to run the best possible campaigns against their GOP Bush rubber stamp opponents!
If this RNC propaganda effort is not responded to on a national level, then at least Democrats and Democratic candidates can respond to it at the local level in their campaigns to try and win over the MANY disillusioned Republican voters out there who are winnable for us and who the RNC are trying to scare to the polls for free GOP votes that they do not deserve!

An excellent example for all of us to follow and what we all need to be doing to help fight against extreme right wing Neocon smear propaganda which will help our local candidates to win their races!

Dear Mitchell,
Impeachment. Cutting and running from the War on Terror. Key defense systems dismantled. Tax cuts repealed. Speaker Pelosi.
That's what America could look like one year from now if Democrats take the majority. Don't wait a year find out how Democrats have weakened America - after it's too late. Get a sneak peak at what the news would be like in September 2007 - based on the Democrats' actual record - with America Weakly, the newspaper of record for the Democrat majority.
Visit AmericaWeakly.com right now to see a future in which Democrats are in control. You can...
Vote for Your Favorite Democrat Leader. Will it be Hillary Clinton, Howard Dean or Impeachment Czar John Conyers? The winner will earn a special commemorative plaque to proudly display in their office.
Learn how Supreme Court nominees were permanently blocked, key security measures were killed thanks to Majority Leader John Murtha, and Democrats kept their promise to repeal the Bush tax cuts.
Watch the America Weakly Video and share it with friends.
It doesn't take a wild leap of the imagination to figure out what government by the
far-left would look like. The Democrats are already bragging about "killing" the Patriot Act, openly discussing impeachment, and at every turn they fight to undercut the tools we need to win the War on Terror. If they're this extreme now, imagine how extreme they'd be if they had total power in Congress? Find out with America Weakly.
Visit the site. Send a link to all your friends and neighbors. And let's make it so the real headlines a year from now look nothing like America Weakly.
Sincerely,
Ken Mehlman

ROBERTS: "Hey, just a couple of seconds left, Candy. Do you really think the president can scare his base out to the polls?
CROWLEY: I think he can remind his base, whether or not they're scared, or simply a reminder that: Oh, yes, there's this war on terror out here. We have got to keep him there.
It's possible, but it hasn't worked so far.
ROBERTS: Well, we will see if it does this time."
Democrats can win over many of these disillusioned Republican voters (probably enough to insure winning back power in Congress) and can help to make sure that the RNC strategy to scare their base out to the polls does NOT work this time if they will nationally respond to all RNC propaganda and will make a serious effort to reach out to disillusioned Republicans in a sincere way and specifically ask them for their votes!
With all that is on the line in this election and with how desperate that Bush and Rove are to avoid being held accountable for their behavior by either branch of Congress, I do NOT believe that we can take anyting for granted in this election no matter what the polls may look like and no matter how badly that Bush is screwing up!
Every race should be treated as a very serious fight all the way up to November 7 if Democrats are going to have the best possible chances of taking back power in at least one branch of Congress to restore some form of real accountability to Bush and to the extreme GOP leadership before 2008!

Nancy Pelosi: We Won't Impeach Bush
Would-be Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi all but ruled out launching impeachment hearings against President Bush on Sunday, saying that if Democrats take over the House in November she'd make that decision and not Michigan Rep. John Conyers, who would assume control of the House Judiciary Committee.
Asked about Conyers' repeated calls for an impeachment investigation, Pelosi told NBC's "Meet the Press" host Tim Russert: "Democrats are not about impeachment - Democrats are about bringing the country together."
Reminded that Conyers would be heading up the Judiciary Committee, Pelosi shot back - "That's not where the [impeachment] decision would be made"
"I am the leader. Our caucus will decide where we're going," she declared. "I don't see us going to a place of impeachment."
In December Conyers introduced HR 635, a resolution that would create "a select committee to investigate the administration's intent to go to war before congressional authorization, manipulation of pre-war intelligence, encouraging and countenancing torture [and] retaliating against critics."
The legislation says that the select committee should "make recommendations regarding grounds for possible impeachment."
37 House Democrats now support Conyers' impeachment bill, according to the Progressive Democrats for America web site.
While Pelosi insisted she had no plans for an impeachment probe, she did acknowledge that she would use her newfound subpoena power to "have hearings on [the Iraq] war" - the same topic covered by HR 635.
Asked if she would take impeachment "off the table," Pelosi said: "You never know where the facts take you for any president. But that's not what we're about."
