Sierra Club endorsements

So far, at least, the Sierra Club has endorsed Phil Kellam (VA-2), Bobby Scott (VA-3), Jim Moran (VA-8), and Rick Boucher (VA-9). The League of Conservation Voters has not endorsed any Virginia candidates thus far.
The Sierra Club's endorsement of Kellam is certainly welcome. At the last debate he had "no opinion" on the issue of global warming(!) I assume that their endorsement is primarily based on his vocal opposition to offshore drilling. (Thelma Drake has been an enthusiastic cheerleader in favor of offshore drilling).
Why hasn't the environmental community endorsed Jim Webb?

My guess is that Webb hasn't reached out to the group. He made a point of bringing the AFL-CIO on board by actively engaging the union. Philosophically I suspect Webb would be sympathetic to some of the Sierra Club's goals.
Jim just met with the Sierra Club (Lowell - 9/3/2006 6:08:52 AM)
this past Friday. I would certainly hope that they endorse him. As we all know, George Allen has been a complete zero on the environment.
Goodlatte (David Campbell - 9/5/2006 7:57:22 AM)
The latest issue of Sierra magazine ("Two Time Losers" September/October 2006) lists Bob Goodlatte (VA-6) as a member of "The 0% Club: According to the LCV, these members of Congress got every important environmental vote in 2005 absolutely wrong."
Allen (David Campbell - 9/5/2006 8:27:07 AM)
Allen supported the interests of the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) 0% in 2001-2002 and 2003-2004, and eked out a 5% in 2005.
Drake (David Campbell - 9/5/2006 8:31:55 AM)
In the General Ass, Drake supported the interests of the Virginia League of Conservation Voters (VLCV) 17% in 1999, 0% in 2000, 25% in 2001, 17% in 2002, 40% in 2003, and 0% in 2004. In Congress, Drake supported the interests of the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) 6% in 2005.
