This should be fun - no "Misery" at all with these three guys at the Paramount Theater on the Downtown Mall in Charlottesville September 24 at 7 PM.  Consider this "The Summons!"  :)  See you there.

P.S.  If you're interested in attending, the cost is:

$100 for general admission.
$500 includes preferred seating.
$2,100 includes wine and cheese reception with the authors and priority seating.

If They Could Do A Second One... (PM - 9/2/2006 10:44:40 AM)
In Fairfax County -- they'd rake in a lot of money; those authors are super popular here

agreed (Arlington Mike - 9/2/2006 2:58:55 PM)
Agreed - I realize that it's a big ask, but I'd love to see a similar event up here in Fairfax/Arlington.  It would be a real treat, and I'm sure would draw a huge crowd.

Dont underestimate the Charlottesville-Albemarle crowd.  As I have said on NLS there is a TON of money in Charlottesville-Albemarle.  Tim Kaine raked in more money in this area then he did in the entire Tidewater region.  The rolling hills of Keswick, Ivy, Free Union, and Cismont are full of "old money" estates and relocated actors and businessmen searching for the good life and thats without mentioning the upper-middle class surbanites of the 29 and 250 corridor.

no doubt (Arlington Mike - 9/2/2006 9:16:02 PM)
And no disagreement here.

Just think you could get an equally good haul up here in NOVA.  The more the better, right?

ABSOLUTELY! (uva08 - 9/2/2006 9:43:29 PM)
The more certainly the better.  Speaking of money, how much has Jim riased?  I have heard a decent number but I dont want to spread rumors.  When will the official numbers be released?

Jim said the other day that the campaign (Lowell - 9/2/2006 9:47:22 PM)
had raised $2 million since the primary.  I expect September and October to be big months, giving Webb sufficient money to get his message out (plus, the DSCC has said it will pump money into this race so that Webb can compete...).
