Conservative Blogs Declare War on Allen

A quick news search yielded this article from the extreme right wing blog "newsbyus.com".

As I've said for weeks, the extreme right is not happy to find that their one-time Presidential fave-rave, is, among other things, French!

This just points to the suppression of the Allen base and the end of his presidential hopes.

Somehow, I just don't see how I can possibly feel sorry for the the guy.  Maybe if he were to give me some of that skyrocketing Barr Labs stock, I could see my way clear to give him the benefit of the doubt.  heh..

Most of the article is included below the fold.

George Allen Only Likes The Brown People Willing To Work For Slave Wages

By Dave Gibson on Aug 26, 2006

Senator George Allen recently showed a very ugly and hypocritical side to himself. He had no idea the controversy that would follow his humiliation of a young Indian-American man, a young man Allen dubbed +óGé¼+ômacaca.+óGé¼-¥ Allen+óGé¼Gäós comment and the spirit in which it was obviously made was disgusting and he is now backpedaling and offering phony apologies. However, had the young man with the camcorder been Latino (even an illegal)...Allen would not have dared insult him.

Two weeks ago, Sen. George Allen was attending a campaign rally in rural Virginia, when he spotted S.R. Sidarth taping his comments to the crowd. Allen paused the rally for a moment and pointed to the young man, then shouted: +óGé¼+ôThe fellow over there in the yellow shirt, Macaca, or whatever his name is. He+óGé¼Gäós with my opponent.+óGé¼-¥ After telling the crowd that Sidarth works for Webb and frequently tapes his speeches, Allen said: +óGé¼+ôLet+óGé¼Gäós give a welcome to Macaca, here. Welcome to America...+óGé¼-¥

We have since learned that +óGé¼+ômacaca+óGé¼-¥ means monkey and is used as a French racial epithet to refer to dark-skinned people of North African ancestry. Allen+óGé¼Gäós mother is from Tunisia and the Senator himself is actually speaks French fluently. It is obvious from the video of the incident that Allen knew exactly what he was saying and took great pleasure in demeaning this young man.

What Allen may not have known at the time was that the man he calls +óGé¼+ômacaca,+óGé¼-¥ grew up in Fairfax, Va. and attends the same university from which Allen graduated (University of Virginia). Sidarth is in fact an American citizen, as are his parents. He did not need Allen to +óGé¼+ôwelcome+óGé¼-¥ him to America.

Needless to say, the Indian-American community was outraged by Sen. Allen+óGé¼Gäós words. While I normally never make mention of these types of incidents, I have to say that Indian-Americans have the right to be angry because this is one group of immigrants who contribute greatly to this country. Here are a few statistics that Senator Allen may have overlooked:
-35,000 Indian-American medical doctors in the U.S.
-10,000 Indian-Americans attending U.S. medical schools
-300,000 Indian-Americans working in the U.S. high-tech field
-5,000 Indian-American college professors

Dr. Kalpan Chawla (an Indian) died in the Columbia Space Shuttle explosion.

Indian-Americans come to this country legally, work very hard and tend to instill very strong morals within their children. Yes, you will find many of them working in 7-11+óGé¼Gäós and Dunkin Donuts stores as pointed out by Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE). You will find them behind the counter in those places because they are willing to take the jobs which are most readily available and see all work as honorable ( Unlike scores of black Americans, they did not have to be forced into those jobs only in order to keep certain welfare benefits.).

[...]

Indian-Americans contribute a great deal to this country and do not deserve to be derided by Senators Allen nor Biden. Unlike Indian immigrants, both of the aforementioned Senators are a disgrace to this country and precious few Americans would even notice if those two were to suddenly disappear.

Allen+óGé¼Gäós comments were not only racist and disgusting, but very hypocritical. If the dark-skinned man taping Allen that day had been named Garcia instead of Sidarth...Allen would have never opened his mouth.

Allen is of course a Republican and just as the leader of his party has done, Allen has decided that the Mexican invasion is a good thing for his nation. The Republican Party has turned its collective back on this nation, in favor of their main benefactor--big business. No less than 81% of Allen+óGé¼Gäós PAC (Political Action Committee) contributions have come from big business in search of cheap Mexican labor.

Allen+óGé¼Gäós Senate voting record displays his desire to import more slave-laborers into the American job market, as well as his disdain for American immigration laws.

-Allen voted to create more guest worker visas to countries participating in the NAFTA and CAFTA agreements (Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2006).

-Allen voted against hiring more immigration investigators (Dept. of Homeland Security Appropriations Bill for 2007). This bill sponsored by Sen. Sessions (R-AL) failed by a vote of 34-66, and would have added an additional 800 investigators on the streets.

Sen. George Allen will never publicly point out the harm to this country being caused by the flood of illegal aliens streaming across the Mexican border. He will never mention the growth of violent Latino gangs inside this country, the number of U.S. emergency rooms forced to close their doors because of the invasion, nor the fact that illegal aliens account for 30 percent of this nation+óGé¼Gäós prison population. But most of all, you will never hear Allen point out the fact that Mexican invaders drive down wages across the board for all Americans.

Is George Allen a racist? Probably. Is he a hypocrite? Definitely.

Immigration is the issue that will fracture the conservative movement (Bubby - 8/28/2006 10:27:26 AM)
Energy deregulation and skyrocketing utility bills, did not.

Federal giveaway of mineral and oil properties, did not.

Funding of domestic spending with foreign debt, did not.

Unprovoked war and nation-building frayed the edges.

Deficit spending almost did.

But out-of-control immigration has convinced even the most devout Bushophiles that GW really has sold his soul to the devil.  And George Allen is glued to Bush on this issue.

Immigration will be the end of the Conservative movement as we know it.  And the pile of bones that remain will contain those of George Felix Allen's political career.

Hope you're correct (RayH - 8/28/2006 11:53:00 AM)

You'd think that deficit spending would matter more to conservatives, but the definition of a conservative has been changed.

If we're fortunate, the immigration issue will be like the first leak in a dam, and the weight of all the other issues will cause it to burst.

The Conservative Movement (Bubby - 8/28/2006 12:21:44 PM)
Has been taken over by the religious right.  And they don't concern themselves with the wonky issues of fiscal responsibility - they have FAITH that it will work out. And who cares about the future of the planet when the return of Jesus is nigh?

But throw in a little old testament history of the blood, and dilution of American culture - you have an issue. These people are fixed on the Israelites - be damned if they will be run off their own land!

The conservative movement is collapsing under the weight of its own evil.  It abandoned its soul to the religious fringe at the crossroads in a bid for majority party status.  And the devil is calling it due.

Blacks and welfare? (jwberrie - 8/29/2006 8:59:42 PM)
I'm glad this conservative sees what's wrong with Allen's description of Mr. Sidarth. But what the hell provoked the remark about blacks and welfare? Can't conservatives hide their racism even when the try to do something right?
