Al Weed spoke at the 18th Annual Albemarle County Democrats BBQ on Saturday. He was among several people who spoke.
Kathy Gerber has a diary up here with her experiences and highlights.
I know it looks like there is nothing in the video window, but this is the first time for using the Google video service. Trust me, there is a video in there (2:42). Other speakers included:
Creigh Deeds, Leslie Byrne, and David Toscano.
Fred Hudson, an Albemarle Committee member and the Chair of the Fifth District Congressional District Committee, was a very gracious host, as was the entirety of the committee members I met. It made me jealous wishing I had such a together committee.
The video above is the first installment of Al's speech on Saturday. I will be posting the rest here all week long in diaries.

Everyone had a great time. There was a bluegrass band and a magician for entertainment.
Leslie Byrne spoke on behalf of Jim Webb. Her speech was inspiring, and as Kathy spoke of in her diary, Leslie spoke of the anniversary of the right of women to vote.
Al Weed got a standing ovation after his speech, which I thought was terrific!
As usual, Creigh Deeds started us off, asking about whether we were in the 'real' Virginia. He got lots of agreement that we are in fact. He has a way of getting a crowd going. I think he is one of the most talented speakers in our Democratic Virginia sphere.
David Toscano introduced Al Weed, and gave a great speech about the hard work in front of us as Democrats, and what we can do to help take back the Congress and the State Legislature.
It was a great afternoon in beautiful Crozet.
We had a good time didn't we? I know I did. I still want to get with you about those articles I would like your help with.
It was great meeting your partner, and goofing around there at the table. I saw a ton of people I knew, including some from the state party, and others from both campaigns. I had a blast. And the food was great too.
Great to be among friends and Democrats.
BTW, I don't think we are taking advantage of the fact that Virgil is all but hiding out. I heard that he is holding back until Labor Day. This is a really good week to get visibility for Al Weed as an excellent alternative, and I hope you post over on DK, too. All Al needs is $ to get the message out there.
Check out Virgil's web site. There's nothing there since July 4. It is pathetic.
