The 8 local chambers in Fairfax County (Annandale, CFCC, Herndon, McLean, Mt. V-Lee, Reston, Springfield and Vienna) have been invited to participate in Senator George Allen's 2006 Listening Tour on Tuesday, August 22, 11:30am to 1:30pm. The event will be a lunch at the Country Club of Fairfax (5110 Ox Road, Fairfax, 22030). The per person cost is $40.We would like to have an audience of 80 (minimum) to 120 (maximum). The lunch is open to your Board, Executive Committee and key leaders from your small and mid-sized business members.
Listening only to those who can afford to buy access? Sounds like the George Allen-Bush Republican way!
[UPDATE: Note to I Pubus - I've actually been very busy, but I just wanted to tell you how much I care for your ever-thoughtful and well-reasoned commentary. Also, obviously, the deal here was if you wanted to eat AND hear our great, bored-out-of-his-mind, macaca-spewing Senator, you had to pay $40. If you just wanted to listen to Allen's profundity, you didn't have to pay, although this was not at all clear from the announcement ("The per person cost is $40" sure sounds like that's what it costs to get in). Luckily, all has been cleared up now, and all is right with the world. Phew.]
How was the turn-out, Ben?
Typical hypocrisy.
BTW, love that you had to go anon over at NLS. Typical hilarity.
That's really a shame.
By the way -- which particular "Anon" post(s) are you referring to at NLS? I've read his blog a couple times, and posted under this name once or twice... but never otherwise. Still, I'm very interested to see what brilliant comments you're attributing me. :-)
I think your bald faced lie would be that. But, you do know that can be checked, right?
I mean, you did confuse him/her with me, after all.
Nevermind. I'll go check out NLS myself. Haven't read it in about a week, but I should be able to see who you're talking about.
