Webb introduce yourself-commercials soon? (thegools - 8/18/2006 5:48:30 PM)
It would seem to me that putting out some positive radio and TV commercials while the Macacacacaca stuff is still fresh in people's minds would be very wise, especially if they highlight Webb's populist message.
Allen is down, now people must be introduced to the better alternative, Jim Webb.
Can you please compare this with Kilgore-Kaine? (Dan - 8/18/2006 8:21:47 PM)
This almost mirrors Kilgore-Kaine. Yes, we get the "mukaka" bounce, but Allen will not likely get another bounce at the rate this country is going. I remember you did graphs like this last year for Kilgore-Kaine. So, can we see a comparison? Thanks.
You ask, I provide. (Lowell - 8/18/2006 8:27:32 PM)

Waldo Jaquith, by the way.
there is a big difference (teacherken - 8/18/2006 8:43:53 PM)
Kilgore was
- not an incumbent
- never above 50%
thus the races are not really comparable
also worth noting -- there was NO WAY Kaine was going to play well in SW- although living in Henrico Kilgore was a native of Gate City. Webb will run substantially ahead of Kaine in SW. He should also run ahead in Tidewater. If he can hold in NV (and he looks to run at least as well) he can even lag a bit in Richmond and still win.
Great news! (lwumom - 8/18/2006 8:35:04 PM)
Good to see that the PEOPLE of Virginia don't go for racist behavior. Keep up the pressure...if we've gotten under his skin once, we can do it again!
There's nothin' like a graph! (summercat - 8/18/2006 9:31:49 PM)
Thanks, Lowell! Time for the Webb campaign to get out the werious word--and maybe the DSCC will get out some cash for them.
Macacacaca--loved it!!

The crossing of the lines for the rest of the season; blue on top, red on the bottom.
WaPo: "Allen Flap May Give A Boost To Webb" (mkfox - 8/19/2006 2:09:40 AM)
RICHMOND -- The nationwide fallout from controversial remarks Sen. George Allen (R-Va.) made last week has given Democrats new hope in a race many thought would be difficult to win in the historically conservative state.
Before Allen insulted a native Fairfax County man of Indian descent, many Democratic officials were privately doubtful that James Webb could mount an aggressive challenge to the former governor and possible 2008 presidential candidate.
