+óGé¼+ôThe remark could blemish Allen's presidential aspirations and create a distraction for his campaign for much of the week as he seeks re-election against Democrat Jim Webb, political analysts said+óGé¼-¥ (Virginian-Pilot 08/17/2006).
According to many political analysts, this incident is deemed fatal to Allen+óGé¼Gäós presidential campaign, but only a temporary setback for his Senate campaign. Apparently, it is difficult to elect a racist to be president, but easy to re-elect a racist to the Senate in Virginia. Virginians should be insulted by this if it is not true and ashamed if it is.

insulted and ashamed. Bye, I've got to run down to Webb Campaign office and volunteer to help Jim curb this racist idiot.
George Felix Allen Jr, dumber than George W Bush.

I've talked to a couple friends in other states and there is a negative fallout not only for George Allen, but for Virginians generally. George Allen highlighted the worst of Virginia and has embarrased not only himself but the state as a whole. I've written to Senator Warner and Rep. Moran to express my outrage.
A representative is supposed to embody the best characteristics of his state--not the worst. On yet another front George Allen has failed us.
