Here's a video of Jim Webb talking about George Allen, from yesterday's volunteer party at Webb for Senate HQ. Great stuff; check it out!
Webb on Allen's "M-word"-Moment:
"Let me say one more thing about that incident: it does not represent the greatness of the people who live in that part of southwest Virginia. It does not."
P.S. Thanks to Kenton Ngo for this video. Is that kid great or what?!? :)

Yes, yes, Jim was born in Missouri. Well, I was born in Washington DC, so I know nothing about Virginia of course. Wait, my dad was in the Federal Govt. protecting our nation and was stationed there, and he was actually from Missouri, his family, but they were also in Virginia, and my mom is from Webb City Missouri (oh, the irony!) and I actually grew up pronouncing it "miz ur a" as any native of Missouri would (drives my kids nuts, because as true native Virginians- what my wife and I cannot claim!- it is clearly mizzury like everyone else says. The really get nuts because Bruce Springsteen in his new Seeger Sessions CD has the song "Shenendoah" on it in which he prounounces Missouri clearly like I do) so I know a real Missouran when I hear one, but then almost all my family is here in VA, like Jim's cousins and have been for hundreds of years...
Breath
But I lost my train of thought. What a nice video. Having lived here all my life, but not being a native, I wish I could comment back to the Allenites on Southwest Virginia and the beautiful mountains and beautiful, gentle people down here.
Welcome - everyone- to Virginia regardless of age, race, religion, sex or sexual orientation. That's what being a native Virginian, which I am, means to me!
George can take his boots and walk back to California or Iowa or where the Hell ever if he doesn't agree!
