Wavering Republican tells Allen during his "listening tour" that "Congress is not listening to us"

Preach on brother!

On the first day of his annual "listening tour," Sen. George Allen was told Congress isn't listening at all.

Ladysmith resident Reuben Greene came to Ketterman's Garage in Bowling Green to Allen's meet-and-greet stop, and used an open question-and-answer period to chide the senator for Congress' partisan bickering.

"I get the feeling that Congress is not listening to us," said Greene, who is 84. He told Allen he and his friends consider themselves Republicans, but that there is grumbling that "this year I ain't going to vote that way because they're not listening to us."

Allen took Greene's comments in stride, saying he wishes the Senate acted faster, as well.

Yikes.  Later in the article, this Republican notes that he will likely remain undecided until election day (though does have nice things to say about both candidates).

If Allen is facing this kind of weak support in his base - Republicans who are threatening during his campaign events to stay home on election day - he's in some serious trouble.
