In particular Jim Webb, Ned Lamont, and Jon Tester. However, being that I hate standing on the sidelines and because of this recent call of courage from Clark, I can wait no longer.
If you read my diary, you will see that I supported Wes Clark in 2003 through the Draft Movement that eventually led to the Campaign of 2004. Wesley Clark is the guy who made me believe in America again, he made me feel that I could actually make a difference, which the goals of our future were within our reach.
The more I have found about Wes Clark, about his life, about his family, about his character, the more I understand why he must be the President of the United States. I believed in early 2003, in 2004, and even more so since then. I believe that if Wes Clark had been the nominee or at the very least on the ticket in 2004, President Bush wouldn't be President anymore.
This however, is not the case. The establishment didn't think he was ready, the voters didn't think he was ready. I think that America doesn't need politicians to tell us what we need to do with our lives, we need real people.
I think evident to what we saw yesterday with the Lamont win, if candidates tell the truth, they win. Lamont told the truth about Iraq. And although Iraq may be only one issue, it is the issue. Yes, there are so many other important issues that boggle our society, but if we don't fix what we have broken in Iraq we may ourselves find ourselves broken indefinitely.
Despite critics, I don't think we are that far gone yet. I think we still have time, although very little to create a better future for everyone. One thing that really has struck me about Lamont is something is said on ABC's this week a couple days before the primary, he said that Iraq isn't a left or right issue, it's beyond traditional party lines, and it+óGé¼Gäós an American issue.
That's exactly what Jim Webb has been talking about.
It's not only Jim Webb, Wes Clark, Tony Zinni, Russ Feingold, and so many others we praise so much online because they actually have the courage to speak the truth. I have played "politics" for about 3 years, and what has really driven me away from the nature of it all is its bullshit.
You can't really say how you feel if you want to protect your own political future. You can't really say what you think is best for your country or your constituents, unless your ready to be attacked.
This is not the America our forefathers envisioned, I know that may be a naive statement to make but I believe it. Why then are we all here online reading and typing our hearts out? Why are so many people past and present willing to die for this country? For lies?
Ask yourself this question? How much do you want change for this country? How far are you willing to go? How much are you willing to do to protect those issues you believe in?
Are you willing to die?
Our forefathers and everyone who has come before us has been willing to make that sacrifice. Maybe no one will listen, maybe no one will pay attention to this blog, this post, or this change our world is yearning for but we have a responsibility.
Now, I know I have gone off topic in stating how I feel and not talking about Wes Clark. But, it's all tied together in my opinion, all of the issues, all of the lies, all of the bullshit, aren't you ready for real change?
Aren't you tired of slogans, slander, stealing?
I think if you+óGé¼Gäóre ready for change you will support not the person who looks the best, not the person who has the most money, not the person who has the "gravitas", but the person who can lead us forward.
That person is Wes Clark.
