Attorney General Debate

The two Attorney General hopefuls met up today in Virginia Beach for a debate sponsored by the Young Lawyers Conference of the Virginia State Bar.

From the looks of things, the best criticism McDonnell could come up with was pointing out that Deeds is more moderate than Byrne and Kaine.

McDonnell said the Republicans are more ideologically in tune than the Democrats and suggested the differences between Deeds and his ticket mates are sharper than Deeds was acknowledging.

'He will run a good campaign, but he will also run hard from Tim Kaine and Leslie Byrne if he has good sense,' McDonnell said.

Interesting that McDonnell would make this point for Deeds.  I think that aspect of Deeds' ideology might be what makes him the stronger candidate.
