Rice in Lebanon

From the Washington Post:

"On the first leg of her diplomatic effort, Rice focused heavily on humanitarian issues. She announced that the U.S. government is pledging $30 million in aid as part of a new international drive to raise $150 million for Lebanon. The U.S. aid will come largely in the form of goods, including 100,000 medical kits, 20,000 blankets and 2,000 plastic sheets that the U.S. military will begin delivering Tuesday"

Her plan calls for international troops to patrol a buffer zone between Israel and Lebanon.

There's no commitment yet on a cease-fire. Hezbollah is defiant as ever.

No accountability for Isreal in this-- just the party line that they have the right to defend themselves. Meanwhile, the US taxpayer foots the bill for the Israeli attack AND for reparations in Lebanon, and will probably pay for the damages inflicted on Israel by Hezbollah.

I'm fed up with this unending nonsense, and don't want to keep paying for it.

Link to humanitarian aid organizations (RayH - 7/25/2006 3:16:09 PM)
Here is a link to a site that lists organizations offering humanitarian aid to the newly grieving, orphaned, wounded and homeless victims in Lebanon and Israel. I'm sure that donations for humanitarian aid in the Middle East would be timely right now.
