According to two new polls, just released today by Rasmussen Reports, Tim Kaine has narrowed Jerry Kilgore's lead in the race for Governor from 8 points (44%-36%) in April, to 6 points (46%-40%) now. The favorable/unfavorable numbers for Kilgore are 47/33, compared to 43/33 for Kaine. Obviously, Kaine has his work cut out for him, but the trend is moving in the right direction.
The other Rasmussen poll released this morning shows that Mark Warner would defeat George Allen in Virginia by 5 points, 46%-41%, if the 2008 Presidential election were held today. The same survey shows Hillary Clinton losing to Allen by 50%-41% in Virginia. Clearly, at least in this poll, Mark Warner would be the stronger nominee for Democrats in Virginia in 2008.

What is interesting (Tom Joad (Kevin) - 4/4/2006 11:27:06 PM)
What is interesting to me is the fact that 10% of Republicans are undecided. We have to convince those Republicans that they have never had it better since Warner has been Governor. Now Tim Kaine wants to continue that tradition. I also believe that those undecided Republicans are going to go to Fitch. It's their chance to show that they are unhappy with the ultra-"radical" Republican Party slate.
