The amazing Judy Feder for Congress campaign train keeps chugging along. In the second quarter of 2006, Feder raised $318,910, compared to $282,498 for incumbent Frank Wolf. For 2006 as a whole, Feder has outraised Wolf by $195,067, with $607,887 for Feder and $412,820 for Wolf. Finally, in terms of "cash on hand," Feder is within striking distance of Wolf, with $461,247 for Feder and $636,089 for Wolf. All in all, combined with promising poll results for Feder, it looks like we've got a real race on our hands here.A few more details on the Feder fundraising numbers, courtesy of the Feder campaign.
*Well over $140,000 of the second quarter's $319,000 came in via the internet.
*Since the Feder campaign began accepting contributions over the internet, it has received about the same amount online and offline.
*In large part, contributions are coming from donations received via the Feder website using ActBlue.
*A significant share also is coming to Act Blue directly, indicating that blogs like Raising Kaine and others are driving money to Feder's campaign.
*The Feder campaign believes that it is moving up the ranks at the DCCC (Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee) in terms of "competitiveness."
All in all, this is great news for Judy Feder and for Democrats in general. I hope that Judy will come "liveblog" here on Raising Kaine to tout her great news, and also take her case to the national blogs.
