In case you missed it, Tracy Joan from the DNC recently wrote a diary on RaisingKaine about the national Democratic Reunion Events around the country.
In short, on July 29th, the Democrats around the country will be hosting events from ice cream socials to canvasses and phone banks to get in touch with Democrats from all aspects of the community. The DNC is asking all Democrats to get in touch with 100 voters 100 days before Election Day, this day is July 29th.
Our very own Andy Hurst will be hosting his own Democratic Reunion event. You can view the details HERE. The event will be in Woodbridge at Antietam Elementary School at 10AM on July 29.
I asked the Hurst campaign why they were going all the way out there and Matt Helt Volunteer Coordinator for Andy explained to me
Andy has a lot of support out in Prince William County and we wanted to let them know, that this campaign really appreciates their support, and Andy wanted to go out there with his volunteers and talk to these voters face to face through a community canvass.
Prince Williams hasn+óGé¼Gäót been in the 11th District for that long, and thus Andy has a chance to garner some serious backing out of that county, but only if we get the message out. However, Andy doesn+óGé¼Gäót have the millions of dollars that Tom Davis has, so we+óGé¼Gäóre doing it old school, through the grass roots, and that+óGé¼Gäós what the DNC Reunion is all about.
If you live in the Northern Virginia area, please head over to the Democratic Reunion Event details page and sign up for this important event.
If you can+óGé¼Gäót attend the canvassing event, please consider financially adopting a precinct. Even a volunteer canvass costs the campaign money in buying water bottles, clipboards, running walk sheets, literature etc+óGé¼-ª For $50 you can cover the costs of canvassing one precinct, please donate here if you are not able to walk.
If you have any questions call the campaign at 703-455-1014 or email them at fyvcoordinator@gmail.com.
