Does anyone else remember the hoopla surrounding the Balanced Budget Amendment? If I recall correctly, Allen's move to amend the Constitution was a great way for him to blame Democrats who voted against the Constitutional amendment for the enormous deficit. Yet, in day to day legislation, Allen voted consistently in favor of the losing policies of the Bush administration. Far be it from Allen and the neo-cons to take any blame for turning a budget surplus into the biggest Federal deficit of all time. What a bunch of cowards!
Wasn't that action emblematic of Allen's general M.O.?
