Yep, it looks like Bob "I'm not God...yet" Marshall (R) is in trouble in the 13th House of Delegates district (Prince William County).  Turns out that Bruce Roemmelt (D) (that's him in the photo, by the way) not only continues to raise more money than Marshall but also keeps racking up endorsements from firefighters and other public safety officials in his district.  No doubt, the good guys are on Bruce's side in this race!

Here's Roemmelt's latest press release on all the good news.

Bruce Roemmelt Out-Raises Opponent, Demonstrates Widespread Support Firefighters come out strong for House of Delegates candidate in the 13th District

(Haymarket, VA) - For the second consecutive filing, Bruce Roemmelt, candidate for the House of Delegates in the 13th district, has out-raised his opponent. Fire fighters, other public safety professionals, and individuals across the 13th district demonstrated substantial support for Roemmelt's candidacy, citing his strong record of leadership and commitment to the welfare of all Virginians.

According to recent State Board of Elections campaign finance reports, Roemmelt raised more than $46,000 during the current period. His opponent, Delegate Robert G. Marshall, raised just $16,151. Roemmelt has now raised $77,045, nearly $30,000 more than his opponent.

"Bruce was a leader in our department for two decades," said Jeff Crawford, President of the Prince William Professional Fire Fighters. "He has the skills and judgment to be an outstanding legislator. That's why we wholeheartedly support his campaign."

Michael Moler, President of both the Virginia Professional Fire Fighters and the Fairfax Professional Fire Fighters, cited Roemmelt's commitment to focusing on real priorities. "Bruce knows and understands the real issues that our people face and will fight to bring common sense leadership to the 13th district."

"Fire Fighters are a family," said Chris Kerkstra, President of Loudoun Professional Firefighters. "We support Bruce because we know he's the only candidate who will stand up for the working families of our department and of our district."

"It is virtually unheard of for a challenger to out-raise an entrenched incumbent by such a large margin," said James Walkinshaw, Bruce Roemmelt's campaign manager. "These numbers are a testament to the strong desire for new leadership in the 13th district. People are tired of ineffective representation that leaves them sitting in traffic hour after hour, day after day. Bruce Roemmelt is clearly the only candidate in this race committed to solving the everyday problems facing the working families of the 13th district."

Bruce Roemmelt reported 227 total contributors, more than three times the number of his opponent. This strong grassroots support, combined with impressive fundraising totals, have coalesced to make this campaign one of the most watched in Virginia.

Roemmelt, commenting on his fundraising success, thanked his supporters and vowed to work even harder as the campaign continues. "I am honored and humbled to have received such outstanding support from my brothers and sisters in the fire department and from individuals across the 13th district. I will continue to fight every day to bring effective leadership to the people of the 13th district."

Go Bruce!
