But they can't be weapons of mass destruction if they can't destroy anything:
A defense official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the weapons were not considered likely to be dangerous because of their age.
And that's not all. This type of find was reported by the Duelfer report years ago:
While a small number of old, abandoned chemical munitions have been discovered, ISG judges that Iraq unilaterally destroyed its undeclared chemical weapons stockpile in 1991. There are no credible indications that Baghdad resumed production of chemical munitions thereafter, a policy ISG attributes to Baghdad's desire to see sanctions lifted, or rendered ineffectual, or its fear of force against it should WMD be discovered.
And the Washington Post piles on today:
The U.S. military announced in 2004 in Iraq that several crates of the old shells had been uncovered and that they contained a blister agent that was no longer active. Neither the military nor the White House nor the CIA considered the shells to be evidence of what was alleged by the Bush administration to be a current Iraqi program to make chemical, biological and nuclear weapons.
So sad that the Republicans have to try and distort old news for a justification for their mismanaged war.
52% would vote for Dem. state Treas. Bob Casey Jr. if the election were held today
34% for Santorum
And 12% undecided
It's obvious that Santorum is hitting the Panic Button in a frantic effort to close the 18 point gap. The more desperate they become, the more outrageous the claim. Nothing is more dangerous than a trapped rat.
I knew then bush was an absolute liar.
