George Allen originally supported federal funding for stem cell research, but then changed his position on August 7 2005.
George Allen originally voted on June 15, 2005, on an amendment to include sexual orientation in hate crimes laws. The Christian Coalition then criticized Allen because that vote broke a promise he made to them in 2000. In December 2005, he flip flopped back to his original position, stating he does not support sexual orientation as a protected category.
Seems like old George just can't make up his mind, doesn't it? Does he support common sense positions held by most Virginians, or would he rather pander to his right wing base to sure up his presidential bid?
