Ordinarily I don't get involved in party primaries, but I am endorsing Jim Webb for the United States Senate because of his great experience and particularly his knowledge of the vital issues of defense and national security. Jim Webb warned long before Iraq that our troops were going to get into a meatgrinder there and that we had no exit strategy. He's not going to cut and run, but we need Jim Webb to help our country out of this hole, save lives, and get our American troops home safely.I also am strongly impressed by Jim Webb's longtime support for our veterans. He has worked tirelessly on their behalf, and it happened to be D-Day, June 6, that I decided to endorse Jim Webb and work for his election. D-Day took place a long time ago, 62 years ago to be exact, when many thousands of American troops and our allies stormed Omaha Beach in France and started the downfall of Nazi Germany. I was too young to be in that war, but I had older brothers who joined up and not a day goes by that I don't think of them and the sacrifices so many veterans have made. On that D-Day in 1944, for example, the 29th Infantry Division of the National Guard was comprised of men from Virginia and Maryland and they suffered terrible casualties at Omaha Beach. We should never forget that, and Jim Webb will help us remember all veterans and their sacrifices, and he will honor and protect our troops. That's one reason I'm endorsing Jim Webb for the United States Senate.
Very nice. What a day for Jim Webb!
We love the man!!!
I know that Mark Herring endorsed Miller but I chalked that up to the fact that Miller's campaign manager (Andy Resnick) also ran Mark's last campaign (same for Dave Poisson).
Charley Waddell's endorsement will answer the question of Jim Webb's Democratic Bona Fides for many folks out this way.

Too late to organize this for Monday night, but just a thought. Make a good press story. kc
