Miller Goes Back on his Word Again

This was in the Virginian-Pilot:

"Miller, a technology lobbyist, personally donated $500,000 of the nearly $700,000 he raised between April 1 and May 24, according to a report filed Thursday with the Federal Election Commission."

Wait, wait, wait.  I thought Harris told us he wasn't going to self-fund his campaign?  He said he was only going to donate a dollar for every two dollars received?  Apparently, he is now donating a dollar for every 20 cents received.

Harris Miller says whatever suits him best at the time.  People didn't want to think of him as a wealthy, self-funding liberal.  So he said he wouldn't self-fund.  Apparently, he has turned back on his word again.

I don't trust Harris Miller.  He's too manipulative.  Of course, who can blame him?  He is, after all, a lobbyist.

Vote for Jim Webb on the 13th.

nice observation (TurnVirginiaBlue - 6/2/2006 2:05:46 PM)
I too think Miller will say anything and do anything to get that Senate seat.  I also believe he's really going to be a multinational corporate representative, not a representative of Virginia or acting in the national interest.

here's a suggetion LTEs (teacherken - 6/2/2006 5:40:52 PM)
especially to Washington Post, but also to newspapers in
Charlottesville
Roanoke
Bristol
Danville
Winchester
Harrisonberg
Norfolk
Richmond

etc

possibly a better shot at smaller papers?

source the promise - find it in print  and hammer him on the issue

If I had time I would do it, but I am crunched among the end of school grading, position papers for Webb and getting ready for Yearlykos

oh --  And do NOT send the same letter to multiple papers -- divide up the work

get 15 people to do three subjects for five different papers, one LTE per person

hit this issue

do one on how national democrats seem to have no trouble with Webb's Dem credentials, noting former head of party (Dodd), former and current leaders and whips in the Seante (Reid, Daschle and Durbin) and most recent presidential candidate (Kerry)

someone come up with a third topic, or else get 10 people for two topics to 5 papers, or something like that.

Got to get back to grading projects.
