Today, Chuck Dolan, President Clinton+óGé¼Gäós Virginia Campaign Chair, a founder of the Democratic Leadership Council and the former executive director of the Democratic Governors+óGé¼Gäó Association endorsed Jim Webb for United States Senate.

"Jim is an extraordinary Virginia Democrat. I am enthusiastic about Jim+óGé¼Gäós ability to bring the core values of the people of Virginia to the U.S. Senate," said Dolan. "His fighting spirit, extensive experience and devotion to bringing people together remind me of many of the great leaders that I+óGé¼Gäóve worked with."

Part of this should be in bold (teacherken - 6/1/2006 3:08:16 PM)
like this
Dolan was a founder of the Democratic Leadership Council while serving as then-Governor Robb’s Chief National Political Advisor.

another indication the Robb people prefer Webb to Miller.

SWEET! (phriendlyjaime - 6/1/2006 3:17:29 PM)
I say again, SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who reads about all these endorsements.. (thegools - 6/1/2006 3:21:19 PM)
besides us-the blog readers?

It's not an issue of reading them... (Lowell - 6/1/2006 3:32:00 PM)
it's what these people/groups can do for Webb.  For instance, my understanding is that the unions really REALLY dislike Harris Miller and are going all out to defeat him.  Also, I would definitely say that many of these endorsers have influence within their particular spheres. Finally, there's the "validator" phenomenon, in part to counter the stale, silly "Jim Webb's not a Democrat" charge.

besides lowells' response, consider (teacherken - 6/1/2006 3:40:11 PM)
I have put up notice of each of these on dailykos to make them more visible, and have urged Lowell to do a diary of the 3 today.  There is a snowball effect  -- the more people see the more willing they are to commit  -- they might give more money, they will talk more about it ..

and Miller has NO labor endorsements, and if you look at one the recent frontpage stories Webb  just picked up another union.

The thing to do is for you to put together a list of the links to the three endorsements today plus maybe the one by Don McEachin, then send it out via email to anyone you know who lives in Virginia, or who might have good contacts with someone who lives in Virginia.
