1) Miller says "The decision to go to war in Iraq was a disaster." The only problem is that Miller SUPPORTED THE INVASION. In late December 2005, Miller told Josh Chernila and myself that the invasion was the right thing to do, because Saddam Hussein posed a threat to U.S. interests in the region, Israel, etc. Since then, he's never denied that he supported the invasion. So how can he say that the decision to go to war in Iraq was a disaster, when he strongly supported it?
3) Miller says that "George Bush and his allies have run up enormous budget deficits, handed out tax breaks to oil companies while gas prices soar, bogged us down in Iraq with no exit strategy, and advocated policies that benefit the wealthy few by squeezing middle-class families." Well, wait a minute, didn't Miller say he thought making the Bush tax cuts permanent was a "great idea?" And why, in February 2003, did Harris Miller send a letter to Treasury Secretary John Snow, indicating his support for George W. Bush's tax cuts to the ultra-rich?
5) Miller says "As a businessman and as a community leader, I have the experience to bring that Virginia Way to Washington." The Virginia Way? Outsourcing American jobs and representing rich corporations over working people? Having your surrogates smear your opponent as a misogynist, racist and anti-Semite? That's the "Virginia Way?"
7) This entire answer on lobbyists is simply absurd. Harris Miller has been, and continues to be, part of the problem, NOT the solution. If you believe that Harris Miller will clean up lobbying in Waashington, I've got a nice invasion of Iraq to sell you!
Had enough or the lies and distortions by Harris Miller? Yeah, me too. On June 13, Vote Jim Webb!
Considering he told bold faced lies in congressional testimony I'm not surprised.
The Virginia Way. Tyrants rule.
