From the Webb campaign:
Today, Delegate Jim Shuler, former Delegate Joan Munford and former State Senator Madison Marye endorsed Jim Webb+óGé¼Gäós candidacy for United States Senate.
"Jim Webb can touch the hearts of every voter Southwest Virginia. His roots are solidly implanted in our hills,+óGé¼-¥ said Delegate Shuler. +óGé¼+ôMoreover, in this primary, he is our best chance to replace George Allen and end the politics of fear and division espoused by Senator Allen and this President."
"Jim Webb has articulated a vision for the future and I am pleased to stand beside him in the fight to return Virginia+óGé¼Gäós Senatorial representation to the bright side of the future,+óGé¼-¥ said Munford.
Lookin' good for Webb in SWVA!

Does anyone know if Wilder is going to endorse in this primary? (JennyE - 5/31/2006 5:21:18 PM)
I'm hoping he endorses Webb.
Anybody know Wilder's email address??? (DemTilDeath - 5/31/2006 5:27:31 PM)
We should let him know how important an endorsement this would be. It would help Jim with the African-American community, which will be essential during the general. I really think Jim is going to win the primary, but he'll need a good African-American turnout to win against Allen. Wilder can help with that.
I'm laughing at myself (JennyE - 5/31/2006 5:38:11 PM)
I was thinking maybe we could quickly do a "Draft Doug Wilder for Jim Webb" petition/signature drive or website (could be anything else) which clearly states why Jim Webb is the better candidate who is most deserving of Wilder's endorsement. With bullet by bullet talking points. Showing grassroot support for Webb could tip the balance.
It could work. lol
